Wow what a beautiful hotel and casino. If you stay here you may not need to go anywhere else. There are however other things to check out in the area. This seems to be a recurring theme at other casinos also but the drink servers could pick up the pace. Had decent luck and fun on the slots. Good luck if you go.

Stayed here for the first time this past weekend. Overall, the property is beautiful and the room was perfect for 4 people who were staying there. The place had such a Vegas feel, which I wasn't expecting. Overall I had a good time other than the fact I was harassed by employees all weekend about my age. Even after getting carded to get into the casino, I was still being carefully watched by employees, drink servers, and dealers. When handing over my ID many times throughout the weekend, they told me I looked like I was 12 and pointed me in the direction of the arcade. Totally unprofessional. The place was nice, but not sure if I want to come back to a place to be belittled the whole time I'm there.

Our room was filthy to say the least. Management was not apologetic nor accommodating. Checking in we had to wait 45 mins to even get into our room due to them seeing our reservation, but not that we paid in advance. We showed them our email proof and even went as far as showing them the money being taken out of our account. We finally got to our room and dropped off our bags. We left right out to grab dinner and go to the casino. When we got back to our room for the evening, this is what we found throughout our room (look at pictures)! While in bed a bug was crawling on me (in picture a bugs wing is still on the pillow), the remote had a yellow glob on it and it’s also on their placement card (pictured), and we found a bottle cap under the fitted sheet. At this point we call the front desk to ask for another room. We were told all the rooms were booked. Right! They said they can have someone come and clean the room. Housekeeping came even the housekeeping manager and they found more things wrong with the room. They found broken glass between the mattress and the headboard (pictured), a large stain on the mattress cover (pictured), and dead bugs in the corner of the room (pictured). At this point it’s almost 4am in the morning and I just want my money back. My Husband and I will drive 2 1/2 hours back to Houston, TX. Then a room appeared available. They claim someone had just checked out and it was being cleaned at 4am. Again Right! At this point I did not trust this hotel any more. They made it seem like it was nothing. We received no apologies or anything. After an hour of back and forth we eventually received our money back. On our Anniversary we drove over 2 hours back to Houston, never gotten any sleep. NEVER WILL I GO BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!!!

Was an amazing first time there. My mom loves bringing my grandmother and little cousin here. There's a wide variety of family fun, so don't leave anybody out of the trip! There's plenty of dining options and amazing entertainment. Highly recommend checking out.

I have to say this place is as close to feeling in Vegas as you can get. The whole atmosphere and service at this place was impeccable. Being that it's not a far drive from Houston I definitely plan to visit again more frequently. We didn't stay the night there, but I would consider it at least once to round out the experience and to check out the pool area as it was busy. I recommend checking out beach outside, nice, very nice.

On May 22 my husband, I and another couple stayed at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles. The hotel is beautiful! The rooms are outstanding, comfortable beds and pillows and a amazing view. The lazy river and pool area was fantastic and relaxing. There is a Starbucks, which I was thankful for and quite a few different restaurants to choose from. Can't wait to go again!

My family LOVE this beautiful facility! I do have 1 complaint.....NO MICROWAVES! I do get it, their idea is to have guests eat at one of their many restaurants. My idea at least have a room where the ice and vending is for huests, per floor or a primary area. So if you have leftovers you might as well leave it behind, there is nowhere to reheat them, unfortunately. Rooms clean spacious, beds comfy. Pools, lazy river, slide, hit tubs....did them all, amazing. Staff helpful. Other than no microwave or fridge it room it's a BEAUTIFUL and fun resort.

Took my wife here to show her the casino experience since she has never been to one. Aside from the tobacco smoke, this is a great casino. She was pleasantly surprised and even enjoyed playing some slots while I cleaned house at the craps table. Good food selection and shopping options as well. For 5 stars, I'd need more floor games open and better smoke removal/ventilation system. Only had 1 traditional craps table open at 5pm. I don't play the gimmicky craps game they have- it gives a bigger advantage to the house.

Pedicure Fail! You know my friend and I were thinking we were going to have the best time of our life’s. Don’t get me wrong it’s a relaxing environment but you’re overpaying. I would say you’re paying more for your privacy and silence. The ladies were super nice but weren’t experienced in there field. First I had shellac on my toes and they used super cheap filers to removed the shellac. I felt like I could’ve painted my own toes better. Was not worth $200 that we paid. Won’t be back.... unless we get some better tools and more experienced workers.

The location of golden nugget is great because of its proximity to Houston. We stayed in an awesome deluxe room with great view. Everything was great other than the slow waitress we had at the pool. Its was much quicker to order a drink at the walk up bar
