Casino Apache Travel Center

Casino Apache has truck parking, good food, an attached shoppette, fuel, and there is also a shuttle that can take you to the main casino up the mountain, if you're wanting to play the tables. I stick to Casino Apache, though, because I believe the odds of winning are in your favor, unlike the others. If you're in the area, stop in and play a little.

We had fun playing the slot machines. But the people who work here are rude and slow. Gift shop kept making us wait to check out as she took others coffee orders and checked them out? Why not finish with the guest you are waiting on? Then the buffet was a joke. Filthy dining room, 45 minute wait for our drinks. We had to find our own silverware. To be honest I felt like I was being discriminated several times. Maybe we were too white for the place? Sounds strange, but true.... Sadly.

Stayed there on our trip to visit Carlsbad Caverns. We were upgraded to a balcony suit free of charge upon our check in. The room was wonderful and it gave our two year old room to run around. Staff was friendly, and I love the addition of the coffee shop in the lobby.

If it weren't for Paige at the front desk this would easily be a 1 star review. We bought an all inclusive package that included 3 meals a day at the buffet, ski rentals, and lift tickets. When we arrived we were told that their printer was down so they couldn't print our lift tickets and we were given vouchers for everything, including meals . The dinner vouchers were for $150 for four people. The buffet on Friday night was $19.99 a person yet we were told at the restaurant that we couldn't use our voucher on seafood night. $150 could not be used for an $80 ticket??? After asking Paige she told us that the voucher was indeed accepted but we had already ordered food from somewhere else. We asked for a refund or any kind of compensation but were denied. The service in the casino, all restaurants, and in general was very poor. The people were very rude and acted like we were inconveniencing them. The package we bought was $2000 and we were treated terribly. Do not stay here. Thank you Paige for being great and doing everything you could for us. You are a shining star in a poorly ran resort.

A wonderful stay. Majestic views, exceptionally clean grounds and rooms. Plenty of things to do on the grounds. A helpful staff that makes the stay even more enjoyable. My wife and I were worried that a casino that allows smoking would carry that smell to other places in the resort. To our surprise, whatever ventilation system they use keeps the smoking smell only in that area, even in the adjacent hall you cannot smell the smoke, even leaving the casino, our clothes did not smell like smoke. Makes the experience that much better. The food at Wendell's was exceptional. This was one of the best stays I have ever been at and my wife and I will be returning in the future. Book early and often when you visit New Mexico.

amazing place! the location is stellar!! the restaurants were delicious but I highly recommend getting reservations if you plan to eat at Broken Arrow or Wendell’s. Broken Arrow had over 70 beers on tap and the food was good as well. The hotel itself was great. Our room had a lake view and wonderful little balcony. We had a great snow while we were there which made for good sledding! Also, definitely recommend the zip line. The drive up was a little daunting but the view and ride were both SO AMAZING!

There's lots of nice things about this place. Outdoor scenery is eye candy. The only nice employee I encountered out of 10 or so was a waitress named Patti. The people at the coffee shop gave me an iced latte that literally melted the cup... meaning it wasn't iced. I took it back... the young girl was apologetic but the other 2 employees were weird about it. Would it hurt an employee to smile in the place? Great view. 1 or 2 nice people. There's other resorts in neighboring states that will get my business next time.
