First and foremost, as a CASINO the Luxor is fantastic. The layout of the area and the Egyptian theme are awesome. The food is fantastic and you can walk to Excalibur and Mandalay Bay without ever leaving the building which is fantastic. As a HOTEL there is a lot to be desired, the room is dated, the light fixture in the bathroom was broken and the furnishings we're just kind of 'meh'. There is no mini fridge in the basic room and no bath, just a shower with a rather pathetic shower head. While staying here 2/3 of the pool was roped off and closed which was not desirable. So, as a CASINO the Luxor is pretty sweet. As a HOTEL it falls short.
