We went on 4th of July weekend, and as expected, it was packed. I was pleased to discover that there was no charge for Valet. There was a long line to check in, but right away, an employee pointed out there was an automated check-in machine which had no line. The machine was easy to use- just swipe your credit card, insert your ID, and it spits out your room keys. Much better than waiting in line! An employee, Dwayne, was nearby to answer questions about the machine and gave us a coupon book after checking in. He also told us about a pool party happening at the hotel that night. He was very friendly, funny, and was a great start to our stay at the Plaza. The one disappointment for our stay was that the pool party was advertised as 21+ after 8pm, but it was packed with kids well into the night. No one seemed to monitor the age limit. They were splashing and crazy, which made us leave the party early. Overall, I would definitely stay at the Plaza again: fair drink prices, good rooms, and great location (love Fremont Street!)
