The Jim Dandy Bar

I've been to a lot of racetracks and this one is the most nostalgic, visually beautiful, and is in a great, little town. Going to 'the Spa' (the racetrack) should be on everyone's Bucket List! Great place!! I liked it better than Churchill Downs!

The Jim Dandy Bar

Everything awesome about horse racing in one place. 2019 should be awesome with the opening of the 1863 Club. The new Top of the Stretch area is provably the best addition to the historic place in the last couple of years. NYRA does a good job improving this place every year without diminishing the historic charm of the place.

The Jim Dandy Bar

This is horse racing at it's best. Beautiful venue, highest quality racing, a variety of food and drink choices. I'm shocked at people complaining about price. $7 to get in and you can bring a cooler!!!! Compare that to any other big-time sporting venue.

The Jim Dandy Bar

I've been going here since I was a kid with my family. Every summer the place changes only slightly as to accommodate the newest fads and eateries but has never changed spirit and individuality. From the luxury boxes, to the clubhouse, to the new grandstands, the kids center, the array of betting stations and comfortable picnic area this place has something for everyone. This is the oldest sporting venue in America and it's absolutely gorgeous. Whether you're loaded with money or live a modest life, it's imperative that you and your family visit the Saratoga race course in the month of August some point in your life. My grandfather took my dad, my dad took me and I'm taking my kids in years to come.

The Jim Dandy Bar

Love this place, this was my first time here and I'm making it a regular thing from now on. Love walking around, food drinks, even bringing your own and have a picnic. See the races and horses walk by to the racetrack. Great place even for families with smaller kids. 👍👍

Amazing place filled with history and charm! Horse racing is world class and available services (food, drink, seating, kids activities) are great. Continually updating while keeping historical integrity make this a must during the summer!

The Jim Dandy Bar

So much fun to hang out and relax, meet people, bet, watch, and celebrate or cry. Staff are very nice and wonderful. I would never buy a $22 dollar beer there. They might as well just rob you right then and there.

Personally, I think the best part are the amazing Salvation Army Bell ringers who stand at the gates to the racetrack, (sometimes even dancing!) to raise money for the people of Saratoga! We feed the horses, so we better feed the kids too! Even if you lose, they will put a smile on your face. Bet on red!

The Saratoga Race Track is a historic race track. World famous horses race at this track. Make a day of your visit to soak in the history and culture of this experience. While at the track be sure to take the free forty five minute tour of the backstretch, it is worth it.
