American Restaurant

Recommended by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint! Excellent food and they were able to accommodate my gluten allergy with a delicious egg bacon and arugula sandwich that was the best I’ve had in years. My husband has the chicken fried steak and being from the south we are picky. He said it was excellent. Service was super kind and helpful. A perfect brunch!

Always a line out the door on Sunday. Wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Had to wait for a bit, but worth it. Restaurant has a cool vibe. Avocado omelette was light and fluffy. Hubbie tried the chicken fried steak and loved it. Ordered strawberry mimosas. Felt awkward when the server snapped at the busboy to go make them for her... ? Weren’t expecting great drinks from the busser to be honest. Not trying to be rude. Just looked like he was about 16-years-old and was super busy. Thought we’d have to wait, but he ran and made them. Brought them over really fast. Perfect balance of sweet and tart. Will be back for another round!

This place was awesome!!! Loved the staff -efficient and no BS. Our server/hostess Even brought my friend a new mimosa flavor when she saw she wasn't drinking the one she ordered. Food has reasonable portion sizes (great for those on a diet) and atmosphere was hoppin.

Great classic American food. Witty and charming wait staff. Very cap Hill, and not to pretentious all at the same time. Usually at least a 10 min wait. That's a good thing for brunch!

The server (lady) is just rude. Never come to ask if foods are okay. Asked for the sauce and she didn’t even care to listen and said we don’t have in one second after asking questions.

It was about a 30 minute wait for Sunday brunch and we were unsure if we wanted to stay, but it turned out to be worth it. I had the grapefruit mimosa and avocado and pepper jack omelette and I was very impressed. Also our server was very friendly and attentive. I would absolutely recommend Americana and I'll be back next time I'm in Seattle.

My favorite part was the brunch drink menu - multiple kinds of bloodys and mimosas in addition to others. I got the corned beef hash and it was good but the corned beef was over cooked & thus dry. My boyfriend got the grand slam type meal - the French toast and ham were DELICIOUS, would go back for those & drinks and to try something else!

Put your name on the list if it’s full! Came in at 1:15PM Easter Sunday and waited 35 minutes for a table for 2. They will not seat guests with parties of +8. Brunch is from 9-3, they have daily specials and a different pancake-of-the-day. Bar tender made my old fashioned with a real cube of sugar and the most beautifully spiraled piece of orange. We got the pancakes - orange with orange blossom honey - a side of scrambled eggs, The Seattle Slam (2 eggs 2 sausage/bacon pieces and 2 pancake) - swap those pancakes for French Toast, $3. Real maple syrup here - thank you!! Everything thing here is top notch. Play around with the sauces on the table. Black is vinegary and super spicy, like wasabi hot - just for a second. Green is mild salsa. Red is ketchup. Pink is jam. I like to mix the green and black together. Homey, cozy feels. All the people who work here have wonderful energies. You can split checks here. Our total was $63. It would have been around $30 with no drinks but what’s the fun in that?

Finally had a chance to eat breakfast here and it did not disappoint. Now I understand why people line up on the weekends for brunch. The breakfast menu is fairly extensive, but it would be nice if they had one or two healthy choices besides granola and yogurt. Fresh fruit salad, avocado on whole wheat toast...etc. Coffee was a little weak also. We came in and were greeted and received good service.
