Have been going to this casino for years, 9 times out of 10 this is where me and my friends go. Always had a pleasant experience, helpful staff, great food, and fun losing my money! Haha This trip however was so the complete opposite. It started from the moment we walked in the door to check in at the hotel. And I can't tell you how much I was NOT expecting things to go like they did. I was so impressed by the remodel, the casino and hotel are amazing and gorgeous!! We came here from Eau Claire, not extremely far, but a bit of a drive nonetheless... I recieved a flyer in the mail from Ho-Chunk Gaming, saying "Its been a long time since we've seen you" or along those lines. Now mind you, I have NEVER been to another Ho-Chunk Casino, so I just assumed (my mistake entirely) that it was for a free hotel stay at Black River, but it was not, it was for Wisconsin Dells apparently. I called and booked a room, and myself and a couple friends came to Black River for the night. Well, upon arrival we find there is no reservation for me, and this is because it was for Wisconsin Dells, and for the record I told the lady I spoke to that we wanted a smoking room (ONLY available at Black River) and she said "Sure! No problem!" So, even after explaining the situation, they would not honor the room voucher, they wouldn't even lower the rate. So we paid for a room. Then I go to Rewards Desk because that same flyer had another voucher on it for $100 in free Rewards play...the gentleman at the desk proceeds to tell me that I cannot use that either!! It is only for Wisconsin Dells as well. Now I need to point out that the hotel voucher did say Wisconsin Dells on it, so I didn't argue that, it was my mistake as well. But the Rewards play voucher was completely void of ANY kind of information that stated it was only useful at Wisconsin Dells. The man was VERY rude to me about it as well. So I walked away and went to another desk, hoping I could speak to someone who would be a little nicer about things...NOT THE CASE!! I got 2 ladies who were extremely rude and demeaning, explaining things to me as tho I was an idiot. I was almost in tears at this point. It was an AWFUL experience, and really saddens me, as this is my favorite casino. We would not have driven all the way here if we knew that NONE of the offers were usable. But we were already here, so they made more money off me, and did not even offer an explanation or apology for the whole situation.

I Love this casino and hotel!! The staff was very nice, the room was very nice for the price, the beds were comfortable, the cafe and buffet in the casino had very good food!! Highly recommended going here!!

It has motorhome and semi parking nice buffet for the price under renovation at the moment but remain open

Awesome hotel. The prices are high considering they take so much money from people. Their comps suck. I go to treasure island once or twice a year and they send me free hotel rooms all the time. Otherwise the hotel is nice and they just built on more rooms. Hopefully now their comps will be better.

Almost all Ho Chunk Casinos are usually nice and have great clean restrooms. There is usually seperated smoking and non smoking areas to play. Large clean areas are easy to walk around. Drinks available as well as a bar. Lots of employees standing around not appearing to do anything except talking to other employees... Some friendly staff are usually helpful. Some others don't greet at all. Wow. Will return upon need to. No win for me again.
