Featuring the dynamic pairing of Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi and design impresario Philippe Starck, Katsuya in Las Vegas is truly a feast for the senses. With specialty cocktails, unique rolls, and spectacular sushi and sashimi platters, Chef Uechi skillfully translates Japanese flavors for the American palate. The superb talent and exacting precision of Katsuya is changing the face of Japanese cuisine. The Japanese kanji symbol “Katsu” means “victory,” and it is fitting considering the loyal following of celebrities, locals and critics the restaurant has won over with the best sushi in Las Vegas.

REALLY delicious sushi and huge portions. Nice ambience and friendly staff. Happy hour prices (5-7pm) are very reasonable. Server told us each roll was "6 or 7 pieces" so we ordered 4.... turns out you get 10 PIECES per roll. So yeah 40 pieces for 2 people...a bit much but we managed to finish it because it was so good. The corn crunch roll is different, and really tasty. The edamame is a huge bowl too. We will be going back for sure. Our bill was $63 (not including tip) for 4 rolls, edamame, and 2 mojitos. Very reasonable for Las Vegas for such high quality food. Photo is the happy hour price list.

Excellent fresh fish. Miso-Marinated Black Cod was fantastic. When I arrived with my dinner companions the awful music was so loud we couldn't hear each other at all. The staff was responsive when we asked that the music be turned down. When the wait staff at Katsuya and, indeed, in most any restaurant, casino or bar in Las Vegas go deaf in 20 years, will they be able to get some kind of compensation?

I had the seafood noodle bowl as well as a tuna roll that I shared with a friend. The food was fresh and tasted great. I finished up with the bread pudding for dessert which was also really good aside from what I assume was some sort of brittle on top of the ice cream. It just seemed out of place. Otherwise, it was a great experience. It was a bit pricier than I was expecting but it's Vegas so...

Great Happy Hour ===== Ihave enjoyed many Social Hours at Katsuya. The staff has always been professional from the host to the servers to the managers. The ambiance is low-key with modern music in the background. Social Hour starts at 5 pm daily. Here you will find several of their signature dishes at more than half off yet still the full portion. My favorites are the Crispy Chicken Salad, the Sahara Roll and the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna. They also have signature cocktails for $8.00 and an impressive selection of sake available. The wine list is terribly overpriced. I'm actually shocked by how much they are charging for California wines. It would be nice if they offered a medium priced California sparking wine by the glass like Gloria Ferrier to go with their social hour.
