You're at the casino: Wallet full of Benjamins, hitting the bill breaker to tip the waitress, making it rain at the club... well maybe not that last one. Larry Summers, former US Treasury Secretary suggests getting rid of the $100 bill saying that it will make it more difficult for tax cheats and criminals since they would have to work with lower denomination bills.
The $100 bill is the second most common US denomination bill behind the $1 bill according to the most recent figures from the Federal Reserve. And the number of Benjamins has increased subsantially in the past 20 years.
Nearly 80% of the $1.4 trillion of U.S. currency in circulation is in $100 bills.
