Part 3: Maximizing Comps in Craps

“Compliments of the house:” music to the ears of all consumers and players. While playing in the casino offers obvious rewards when you win your bet or hit a jackpot, but Complimentary offers or "comps" is another way to feel like a winner at the casino. Comps are complimentary gifts given to players, usually depending on how much they play or frequent a specific place. They are “thank you’s” for your business. Comps can come in the form of a limo pickup from the airport, vouchers at the casino’s restaurants, or free suites. Because of the speed and betting opportunities in Craps, Craps is a great game to earn those comp points quickly.

Learning to maximize bets and time spent playing on craps can leave a player with huge "rating" and lucrative comp rewards. If you are looking to begin maximizing your comps, the first thing you should do is choose a casino that has non-gaming ammenities that you enjoy - maybe a casino that serves your favorite food or has a nice golf course (like Agua Caliente in Southern California). Your interests should lead your choice on where to play, because getting free passes to shows that you aren’t interested in won’t seem like much of a perk.  Even if a casino has a reputation for giving strong ratings on craps, if the amenities aren’t attractive to you, you won’t get the most for your money played or time spent. For example, The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino offers four restaurant styles and tons of features on which craps comps could be redeemed for endless exciting experiences.

Not all websites provide the information on comps that players should know before they go play. To get the pertinent information, call your UrComped Host at 1-855-526-6733 and let them know the property you want to go to and ask the right questions:

  • On what restaurants, shows and rooms are comps available?
  • Can you help me set up a credit line to play with at the casino? (Yes - we can.)
  • What are the play expectations to receive a complimentary room, show, or meal?

Decide what comps are the most important, and compare the answers from the questions in the list for several casinos that hold your interest. Choosing a place to play based on exactly what you want will leave you as a winner no matter how the dice fall on the table. Craps tables are full of excitement that reverberates throughout the whole casino floor. In the middle of all that dice shaking and loud encouragement, don’t be afraid to ask the dealer or pit boss questions on how you are being rated for your average bet. The higher your average bet, the more comps you will receive.

Theoretically, comps are based on the amount that casinos expect a player to lose at the table. So making medium to large bets or keeping the dice rolling for longer get shooters bigger rewards in the comps department. Keep in mind that comps are based on average assumptions on what would be lost by the player over time, so the size of bet and time played are used to calculate the level of your comps

Note that if you want comps, it is REQUIRED that you use your casino players card at all times. Players know to use them in slot machines but it is very important to remember to give them to the dealer at table games as well. Be sure to give the dealer your name or rewards card before you begin playing to ensure all your effort is compensated. You can do this by handing your players card to the dealer with your cash. While counting out your chips the dealer will have the pit boss look up your players card and watch to rate your play.

After you give your players card, it always helps to be friendly with the dealers and tip well. If they like you, there's a good chance that they will round UP when entering your average bet in the casino system.

The Flamingo Hotel Casino and Hotel is a Total Rewards property which has four tiers. No matter which tier players have, they can accrue rewards credits from just about everything they play. These reward credits can be earned quickly at the craps table. The more you bet and longer you play, the more you earn.
