1/29/2026 - Royal Caribbean’s next big ship, Legend of the Seas, is now kicking off its inaugural season sooner than expected. The new Icon-class vessel will now set sail on July 4, 2026, a full week earlier than its previously announced July 11 maiden voyage — marking the second schedule shift as construction races ahead of plan. Guests booked on the later date can even switch to the new sailing, with fare protections applying. Learn more. 1/29/2026 - MSC Cruises is giving its private island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas, a serious upgrade. Plans include more dining options, expanded guest areas like a new family beach and adults-only zone, plus expanded cabanas and a marine conservation experience. Crucially, the pier will be extended so two ships can dock at once, helping boost capacity and convenience for visitors when the enhancements wrap up around late 2027. Learn more. MSC isn’t stopping there: the line has unveiled plans to invest $450 million in a brand-new cruise complex on Grand Bahama Island at Billy Cay in Freeport. This project will include modern berthing infrastructure, commercial spaces and visitor facilities aimed at transforming the island into a cruise hub and stimulating local business and tourism. Learn more. 1/29/2026 - In a twist off the court, basketball legend Magic Johnson is helping develop a new cruise terminal at the Port of Los Angeles through his company’s partnership in Pacific Cruise Terminals. The project will include a futuristic Outer Harbor terminal designed to handle next-generation ships and expand West Coast cruise capacity.
