Nice place for a night out. If you want to have a good gambling experience, Check out this place and check it out. Clean and good service. Good variety of slot machines.

Called 20-30 minutes before arrival to get name on list for poker room. No answer 3-4 times I called. I arrive lady does not care and said oops yeah we missed your call. No hospitality training what so ever and currently twirling beads. Oops you miss my call and don’t show that you care. Oops I rate this place a 1star not like you would care. 3/10/18

The staff are professional, drink prices aren’t crazy, and even for the non-gambler, the boat is just pretty to see on the river. Now here’s the good, bad, and the ugly: Good: Nice selection of restaurants, both in and around the area of downtown Elgin - it’s a neat place with a lot of history and do yourself a favor to visit when it’s warmer to experience it. There are plenty of tables with competitive minimums for black jack and roulette. Bad: Being at Rivers versus Grand Victoria is night and day when it comes to the people gambling. If you’re depressed, don’t come here. If you’re with a beautiful woman, don’t come here. If you’re anyone who just needs to spend money to be around people, a normal bar would definitely be a better place. Ugly: Some of the people are very territorial on which machine, seat at a table, or even if you’re sitting next to them at a slot machine - all superstitions are on full blast. Very uncomfortable atmosphere for the party I had brought. Perhaps in the middle of winter, the Grand Victoria doesn’t have the same charm it may possess in the warmer times of the year.

Had a great time here! Ate at Prime Burger House and it was fantastic! I order the veggie burger patty on the garlic Parmesan burger. Family at the table ordered the plain burger and Red Bull. Fries were FANTASTIC! Would recommend for a good bite to eat before heading into the casino. Prices are completely reasonable, the restaurant is super clean, modern atmosphere, and our waiter super nice. Worth checking out.

Company holiday party in one of the ball rooms. Good bar with a good top shelf. Food was good quality buffet. Staff was really good and managed very well. Casino itself was depressing. Looked like mostly people who couldn't afford to be there gambling with the rent money.

I didn't gamble here. But I had a great lunch at the burger restaurant here. The fries were amazing and the hamburgers were as big as my head. Not to mention they had some great varieties and takes on custom burgers. That said, the menu design was way over the top sexy which honestly didn't seem necessary. But the grub was great and I would go again just for the food! It's definitely a sure thing.

On the positive side, it is a beautiful casino. The staff have ZERO customer service skills. On a busy day, we had to wait over 45 minutes in their Crave Deli to get a sandwich. They refused to compensate a bowl of soup while we waited. The staff basically looked as us like "too bad". The line to go through on a busy day did not know where start an order, which added to the wait time. My husband has his MBA and is graduating with his Doctorate in Business had it figured out while we had to wait. When the top manager on duty was alerted to this, he didn't have a solution other than "Sorry". On the positive side, their bathrooms had a close to the opening handicap stall. Very forward thinking in that department. I would have given it no stars for their customer service. That's what makes or breaks a business.

Small casino but they have a good selection of games and excellent restaurants. No hotel is a big drawback and the isles between the slots are way too tight. You can't get to lot of the slots because of the narrow isles. Parking is free but across the street. Forget about trying to get a drink on any promotion times and the waitresses are non existent.

Love, love, love this casino! So many different choices in what games you can play it's almost overwhelming but I love it every time I go! Win or lose it's fun!

Not sure why there are so many negative comments..... the casino is clean and the staff is generally very friendly. Always able to find a video poker machine at the bar. Larry at the bar is a great guy, and so many people know him well. My wife and I have won several large jackpots on Ultimate X poker. The Buffet is very good and you get two free buffets each month with the players card. I am surprised that I don’t get more free cash play given the amounts I play.
