Firefly Buffet

The food is really good. The drinks are good. If you sit outside the view is amazing. The parking is a little frustrating but it could be due to the holiday week. The only thing we weren't happy with is the service. Our waitress was pretty terrible but other than that everything was great.

My daughter and son-in-law treated me to lunch. I had fried crab cake sandwich and it was delicious. I'm back home in Clemson SC and still thinking about that sandwich and can't wait to go back for another one! ;)

We ate looking over the waterway. The shrimp platter was large and delicious. Good service. We would go again if we visit the Charleston area! Definitely wait out to see the shrimp boats. Apparently sometimes the shrimp the restaurant servers will have been caught right there!

Firefly Buffet

Very short wait to be seated outside, and worth it for the beautiful view of the creek. Food was amazing, not a single complaint! Our waiter (Jared) was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu and beer options. The only negative and reason for not giving 5 stars was the hostess. Very low energy and she was wearing slippers. Literally was at work in fuzzy pink house shoes, and acting like it was a chore to greet people with a smile. She also didn't look up from texting on her phone as we left. Everything else was great! Will be back despite the bad vibes of the hostess.

Firefly Buffet

Great place for seafood and nautical views. The inside and outside dining areas offer great marsh/ocean views! The menu has a wide variety of options at reasonable prices. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Last time I went I got the crab cake sandwich and fries, I was not disappointed!

Firefly Buffet

Rustic and hidden in the back part of Shem Creek, this jewel of a place has got great window seating to see the boat dock and the marsh park. Good choices and atmosphere. Good bar selection too. One of my go to places when in Charleston.

When the weather is amazing, you can't beat the atmosphere here. The food is very good as well. I enjoyed the Cajun Shrimp dish, I also recommend sharing it with the Scallop and Salmon pasta with pesto, they balance eachother nicely.

There are several great choices for dinner along Shem Creek. Vickery's offered a compelling mix of great views, authentic Southern cuisine, and a decent drink selection. It was our first night in Charleston and the end of a long travel day, and we quite enjoyed the casual atmosphere and hearty meals Vickery's had to offer.

We intended on getting drinks and food at the bar, as we were celebrating our birthdays and killing time before going to the movies. The male bartender seemed quite friendly and funny, but unfortunately we got the female bartender, who seemed put off that folks actually wanted to order something. There were at least 6 empty seats at the bar when we got there, so I'm not sure why she looked so overwhelmed. Maybe they had just had a crazy busy lunch? Anyway, I ordered a Bloody Mary and a water & my partner ordered a glass of wine and a diet coke. The Bloody Mary received was bland and almost sweet tasting. I had to add hot sauce just to give it a little flavor. I had to ask twice for my water, which eventually got to me (and arrived in a plastic cup). However, after asking twice for the diet coke, it never came. We were not offered a menu, so didn't end up ordering food (which was actually fine by us because we were already less than impressed as it was). We were done our other drinks when the bartender finally said "oh yeah, I forgot your soda" .. but at that point all we wanted was to get the check and get out of there. After stopping in the ladies room on the way out, I'm reminded that this place also really needs a facelift (or at the very least a deep cleaning). Ahh, I miss the good old days ...

When it's nice out and you have the chance, take a seat on the outside terrace overlooking Shem Creek, it'll change your life. The menu has something for everyone. I personally love the salads, there's a close tie between the Cayenne Chicken Salad and the Grilled Jerk Chicken Salad as my all time favorites. BEWARE the parking situation - the entire lot gets PACKED at peak hours (*again see comment about when it's nice outside). It can get pretty tricky finding a decent spot (you may have to hoof it) but it's totally worth it.
