Tv.s are very small. Holes and stains on bed sheets. Mold in the shower. Outside door is not secure. It's very run down. It needs a make over. It's like 1970s style air conditioner needs to be replaced. The bed is so old you move and it creaks.

I live in st Paul black bear was about 1 hour and a half away. We arrived got the room which was your basic smoking room nice and spacious had a reclining chair. It was a little run down but not so bad. However, there was not much of a diverse crowd but it was overall a good atmosphere. Got food from the 24/7 deli which was pretty bomb ! Indo recommend a night or two.

If people are giving this motel a bad rating ignore them! Our family stayed July 2018, in the tower which is the newer addition to black bear and it was nothing but amazing! Super clean rooms! Immaculate! Very very clean smelling and no smoke smell whatsoever! Yes there is smoke smell in the casino but if your going to a casino hotel u will have that smell in the lobby!!! Stay here! Trust me! You won’t be disappointed! The staff was scrubbing the floors and elevators the morning we checked out and picking up every shred of garbage outside on the ground! Amazing experience! 👍

Asked for a quiet room- got it! Asked for a roll away at check-in- got that too. Front desk girl was very helpful pleasant and professional. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Enjoyed the buffet for three meals....did have to chase down our waitress for more coffee at breakfast the first day...no problem the next day. Bartenders and players club personnel were all attentive and helpful. Kudos to the staff!

The black bear casino is a very large resort offering a varied range of games including video poker and bingo. The buffet is wonderful with a large selection of different choices; even at lunchtime. The interections we had with staff were pleasant, and they were very helpful. I was with my father in law who is disabled and they provided us with a wheelchair for him. The gift shop is lovely, larger than most casino gift shops I've seen with great choices on gifts and mementos. The location is easy to find and there are plenty of parking spaces.

It's a little far from the cities but it's all highway the entire time so it isn't too bad. The hotel room was extremely spacious and the staff members were amazing as well. The Buffet was also very very good.

Great place to stay. We visited canal park in Duluth. Staying at black bear made it easy to go sight seeing in Duluth. The casino has a 24hour deli to get eats, a great coffee shop. Good staff at hotel to help with most everything you need in area.

As the casino itself was clean. We got a nice girl to teach us Mississippi stud and that was real fun. I walked away 20 bucks up. However the hotel room was lacking. Coffee pot in the bathroom? How disgusting. No mini fridge. I feel like they went cheap in the hotel part of there casino.

Always have a great time even if I don't win I'm not a sore loser either though I was taught to be thankful for what you do have. I was also told that I am not a loser I'm always a winner. I may wind up walking a way with not a dollar to my name but I'm not a loser. I'm still going to be happy with me... Good Luck and have fun and remember that you are never a loser, you enjoyed your time and that's what matters. With that being said you're a winner in my book...

Check-in time is posted as 4pm (which is later than any other hotel I’ve stayed at) and rooms STILL weren’t ready at 5 - with no idea when they would actually be ready. The reason they’re not ready is there was a full house the night before - I think 11-4 is plenty of time to turn rooms. Sounds like a staffing issue, not a paying guest issue. Meanwhile I’ve got three kids in the freaking lobby going crazy. Once I demanded to speak to a manager and actually got a room it was fine. Clean, good sized room. TV might as well not existed. 19” TV without HD isn’t exactly what I’d expect from a ‘modern resort’. The breakfast buffet was a good value and great selection which is the only reason why I’m even giving 2 stars. The hotel itself would get a big zero.
