It took a long time to get our food, but the food was very good. The duck was flavored all the way through. The red rice was amazing. I also had the deviled eggs. They were perfect. I would have given 5 stars, but we waited a while on the food..

This place really lived up to the hype! It's a great atmosphere offering delicious southern food. We ate more than two people ever should but it was more than worth it! The chicken liver appetizer was INCREDIBLE (if you like livers, of course) - and I'm still dreaming about the banana pudding tart we had for dessert! If you're planning a trip to Charleston be sure to make reservations a few weeks in advance because you don't wanna miss this place!

Loved it! Have wanted to go here for a while and had the chance last week while visiting Charleston during in Isle of Palms Beach week. Quintessential southern comfort food in a beautiful surrounding. Wait staff was wonderful for our large family group and very knowledgeable about food sourcing and preparation. Those at our table raved about the shrimp and grits, mac and cheese with bacon pepper jam and creamy crab soup, and my bouillabaisse was delicious! And don't forget to try the pimento cheese!

Had reservations for 7:30 in early June. Every table was filled. Wait staff is very knowledgeable and passionate about their food. The restaurant is old with wood floors which add to its southern charm. And it can get a bit cramped since they have limited floorspace for so many tables (make sure you're comfortable with a little tighter spaces during busy hours). The food was excellent. We split pimiento cheese with (very, very thin) "flat bread," and it was very good (not even a fan of pimiento cheese). I had their seared salmon with shrimp succotash for my main course. I cleaned my plate it was so delicious! All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and it lived up to the buzz about it being one of the best places to eat in Charleston.

Great place to eat. Visit their on vacation. Cat fish was excellent. Don't forget to try the banana pudding and peach cobbler desert. Service was excellent also, very warm environment. I recommend this place if you are visiting or stay their its a must stop!

Food is hearty and delicious. Came here for southern comfort food and our taste buds were delighted. We ordered the fried chicken which came with a side of collared greens, gravy, mashed potatoes and biscuits and it was delicious. The skin however was not good which is usually the best part. We also ordered the 12 oz pork chop which came on a generous portion of rice and greens. Portions are huge so I'd recommend skipping the appetizer. Enjoy!

I don’t normally give 5 stars but wow!! This place is very professional and homely all in one setting. But can we talk about the food. I just had the egg rolls appetizer and omg the savory of the egg roll and the sweetness of the peach CRAZY!! I’m now waiting for my fried chicken breast, and telling from the couple behind me I’m not going to be disappointed.

Lovely place in downtown Charleston. Stopped in for lunch and they had wonderful seafood. The service was good/everything was presented nicely. *Update: Returned for dinner and it was great. It was full on a weeknight which was good if you like a lively crowd (still tame and classy). The drinks were good. Will keep returning.

Went for second time. Sat at the bar and had pleasure of having Mark make our cocktails and serve our food. He recommended great vodka for my spicy bloody Mary. Always a great time! Excellent food, not a big grits fan but the appetizer with shrimp, sausage over grits was amazing. We had Pauline as our server and she was top notch, attentive but not intrusive...great, will go back!!!

Me and my husband went to Magnolias and we enjoyed the atmosphere, food was great and server was good too. I ordered Tuna which was cooked perfect and my husband ordered steak which was cooked to perfection too. We were very happy with our experience. We made reservations but reached there 20 minutes early and they accommodated us. We will definitely be returning there.
