World's Bar

We went today and experienced some really good barbecue. We got a lot of food for our money. We shared a two meat plate and still took home enough food to share later. The staff was very accommodating, and we even got to meet Mr. Leon himself who was very personable. I would recommend this establishment to anyone coming into the Galveston area looking for great barbecue and sides.

World's Bar

Absolutely love this hole-in-the-wall place. It's a cozy house with about 7 tables and a handful of employees. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and the food here is absolutely amazing. I always get the brisket, but the sausage is just as good. The baked beans have a sweet bite to them, and the Mac-n-cheese is just southern comfort. 12/10 would recommend to anyone looking for some really good BBQ and a great experience. Oh and the BBQ sauce is an absolute MUST!!

OMG delicious! It’s kind of a little hole in the wall place, but so worth the entrance. Had a 3 meat dinner and came home with enough lunch for two. Probably enjoyed the already sauced briscuit best. Don’t leave without a piece of their Homemade Rum Cake. I’m thinking of buying a whole one to take Home to Pennsylvania. Yum! This place did a lot of takeout business while we were there. I think that speaks volumes. Hope you try it. You’ll be pleased.

World's Bar

We were visiting from Louisiana thinking we were going to get some good TEXAS BBQ, and we were wrong! I gave this review 3 stars because of the customer service. The lady who took our order was very nice, and we got our food pretty quick. We ordered the brisket and sausage plate with the spicy rice and baked beans, a sausage plate with the same sides and added a side of potato salad, and mac & cheese with 3 slices of their sweet potato pie. On a positive note, the sausage was really good, but it didn't taste like it came off a grill. The potato salad was really good, the best that I have tasted from a restaurant. The sweet potato pie was just ok, I have had better. Now for the negative, the brisket was dry and there were too many burnt pieces on it. Out of both plates we may have had 3 good tender pieces of brisket. The spicy rice was too spicy, and it didn't go well with the meats. The mac & cheese wasn't good and there was no seasoning and it tasted like it came from a box. The baked beans was too sweet and the taste of it was not good. I feel like they need to take more time out to really cook their brisket so that it could be tender, and make "Rice Dressing" instead of this spicy rice and take their time when making the beans. This is supposed to be a restaurant where you are suppose to get good homemade comfort food. I think we must have chosen the wrong day to go, because the food taste as though they really didn't want to cook that day. This experience was too expensive for us to even give this place a 2nd chance!
