Grand Café Tropical

Loved it! The location is unbeatable. The Hotel is fully renovated, the rooms are so comfortable, they have a kitchenette with a small fridge and a small freezer, great views, lovely service and yummy breakfast!!! Beach is great for kids and they also have a private island which has 2 beaches for adults and families, they are both great! There are flamingos in the private island which is amazing to see and you can even feed them! Overall experience: flawless!!!

Grand Café Tropical

This is a great place to stay. We stayed at the adult only location. The resort offers great shopping and there are some good places to eat around the property. The resort is not right on the water, but does offer a separate private island that has two beaches, you get there by boat. The pool is also very nice, and the staff are great. I would recommend staying at this place for a few nights where you get shopping and your visit to flamingo beach (yes it has flamingos) and then spend the rest of your trip at a resort on the beach.

Grand Café Tropical

Pros- clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good location, “private” island, economical, casino for entertainment, shopping close by, amazing close by restaurants Cons- loud music from the bar/pool area, included meals are repetitive, never gave us the One Happy Island honeymoon package we were promised The Renaissance Island is not going to give you a quiet private beach experience, it’s busier than most of the public beaches. The scenery is beautiful. The restaurant on the island has good food. The staff are excellent. Many upgrades available including cabanas and massages on the beach. Water is shallow, not great for swimming or snorkeling. Iguana beach is better than Flamingo beach in my opinion (depends on what kind of beach experience you’re looking for)

Truly loved our stay here. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, there are very nice pools at both the Ocean Suites and Adults Only Marina side. As a guest at Renaissance, you have full access to Renaissance Private Island which is the only private island in Aruba, after traveling to much of the Caribbean, the atmosphere on the private island is perfect for couples and honeymooners and it was absolutely beautiful. Lots of younger people. A decent variety of restaurants, bars, and shops in and around Ren Aruba. The rooms could have been a bit nicer considering the cost, which is my only criticism. I now know why they call Aruba "One Happy Island" and would highly recommend Renaissance Aruba for a relaxing vacation or honeymoon!

Really great place! You can go to private Island (Flamingo Island) from the hotel itself, no need to wait for any water bus from outside of hotel. It would be great if they had more space in rest room. Swimming Pool view is amazing!

Grand Café Tropical

Upon entering our room, I took a shower to get ready for bed. Once I got into the pillows and sheets on the bed had reeked of sweat as if the linen was never changed prior to someone else's stay. The bed also had little hairs and sand under the sheets. I called front desk to have the sheets changed and they said okay. They never came. The next day I took told the house keeping woman on our floor to change the bedding, she didn't understand what I was saying so I showed her the linen on her carts and she handed me pillow cases. I used those but ended up going home with Scabies which is a parasite that goes into the skin, breeds and lays eggs there which takes 4-6 weeks later for your skin to burst out in an allergic reaction. My stay here was roughly within that time frame. 4-6 weeks ago. I am now suffering a major rash on my legs with hopes that the medication I've been prescribed will heal the swelling, kill the bugs and heal the rashes it has left all over my skin. I will NEVER stay here again. Needless to say, hotels are gross and there should be better precautions taken for hygiene, esp at an expensive one such as this!

Our stay at this hotel was amazing. Access to private beach by boat with WiFi and beach is very accommodating. In a prime area which is not far from airport and nice for shopping at local shops or well know brand US stores. Also not a congested area in comparison to other hotel sites.

Grand Café Tropical

Right on the opposite side of the waterfront. A very nice location with outdoor swimming pool next to a bar/eating area. Rooms are typical of this hotel brand and try and get one high level and looking out to sea. A Starbucks coffee outlet on ground floor as well as a shopping mall all on site.

The staff at this hotel was great. They were all very friendly and accommodating. The pool was very nice but the lagoon left a little to be desired. It was smaller than I expected it would be. The suites were a good size but were not nearly as nice and updated as I would have hoped for the price. This is probably my fault for not researching what I would get for 400 a night but it seems if you want a nice updated hotel in Aruba you should be spending closer to 600 a night or more. I guess I expected Marriot to invest more in keeping up with the rooms. Everything negative was purely cosmetic and seems that the place has not been updated in at least 10 years. Carpet was dingy and gross, the TVs were small (32") The furniture was outdated and not comfortable. The only saving grace for this hotel is the private island which is wonderful and the very close proximity to anything that you would want to do or eat for a night out.
