Retro Deli

Considered to be the best casino up in Blackhawk and Central City it simply is. we have been to many of the casinos up in that area in Century casino is by far the best. They carry many new slots they do a great job of giving out free drinks on a regular basis. They also have a very clean atmosphere and are always having some sort of drawing. We try to make it up every time we were in the area.

The staff were absolutely fantastic and very helpful from check in to check out. The room was very neat and tidy and the bathrooms were spacious and well equipped with extras in case you forget the basics. The casino was very colorful and fun. The entire town holds a very lovely atmosphere!

We had taken an historical tour of Central City and were hungry after all the walking around. We stopped here and walked through the casino to get to the restaurant... I remarked to my girlfriend that we could stay and play some blackjack after lunch. It's not necessarily the casino's fault, but every customer we saw in the casino section looked fat or old or both, or like they had some sort of medical condition, or maybe like they were on their last dollar... it's not meant to be an indictment, but I felt sorry for them and wished I hadn't had to walk through this particular gauntlet just to get to the restaurant. I just wondered why I didn't see even one young, good-looking, in-shape, well-to-do person here besides ourselves. When we got to the restaurant itself, an old biker guy in full leathers was looking at the sign that proudly advertised prime rib for $6.99 (I think it was $6.99, something like that). My girlfriend said "Look! They have prime rib for only $6.99" and I said "Dear, you're not going to get good prime rib anywhere for only $6.99". The biker dude turned around and started laughing, his toothless grin telling a story of rough days and toothbrushless nights. I asked the hostess "How's the food here?" and she proclaimed "We've got the best prime rib in the house!" I innocently asked "Well, how many other places are selling prime rib in this particular house?" and she blushed and paused and I could see her gears turning before she then said "Oops, good point. I guess I should be saying 'We've got the best prime rib in town!'" I secretly wondered, sadly, whether a local butcher truly didn't have any dry-aged prime-grade prime rib better than the budget-priced prime rib at this fine establishment. She then took us back to a seat and handed us some filthy plastic menus. Food was visibly strewn about the floor, both in and out of our booth, and a table across the room was rife with women coughing and hacking their lungs out. I told my girlfriend "Hey, I don't want to stay here, I'd rather pay more somewhere else and feel like maybe I won't get sick from either the people or the general conditions here". She agreed, and we left. I can't rate or review any of the food, except what I saw stuck to our menu and lying about on the floor. If the restaurant had been closer to the entrance, clean, and not advertising unrealistically cheap food, we'd have probably stayed and gambled a while before getting on our way.

Rooms and service here are poor overall with the exception of some nice individuals. The food in the restaurant was Lukewarm, not cooked properly, and thrown together. The best part of the experience was that we won a very nice amount on the craps table. That is the reason we went, hence the 5 star rating. Next time, I'll stay at Ameristar and play here.

Visited Central City a few weeks ago with some family while they were in town and while gambling at Dostal Alley we asked the bartender if he knew of any good places to eat in the area. He recommend Mid City Grill right across the way located inside Century Casino and Hotel. We all loved it and we're very pleased with the experience. The food was exceptional alot of us had burgers and they were all cooked to perfection, very tasteful. The atmosphere was nice too I liked the wall decor and it was almost like we had the place to ourselves it was that open and slow. Our waitress was awesome as well she was very attentive and knowledgeable of the area. Definitely recommend this place to anybody driving through the area or stopping to play a few slots!

I forgot my purse in the bathroom and I didn't realize it until I got to Idaho Springs. I freaked out. So we had to drive back to Century Casino. I went in and the security guard remembered me. They had my wallet. While I was gone they intercomed my name several times and had security going through the casino to try and find me. Obviously, I wasn't there. They had told me that a woman found my wallet and turned it in. Thank God. So they gave me my wallet nothing missing. And the cash was put into a "cage" as they called it. All my cash and everything was still there. They handled it so professionally... I totally recommend this Casino to everyone.

Stayed at the hotel, room was clean and large with 2 queen beds. We did a late checkin at 11:30 pm and the staff we’re very friendly and made the process very smooth. Beds were comfortable and sheets were clean with 4 pillows for each bed. Restroom was clean and had shampoo, soap, and lotion available. Beautiful views of the area from the room. Private elevator for guests to their room, had to use key card to go to guest floor levels. Will stay here again.

On Wednesdays and Thursdays if you're over 50 you get 50% off of your food. You have to ask, they won't ask you if your 50. It's any food in the entire place except for Starbucks. Pretty good deal! The food's fairly average but hey, 50% off good deal and no player's card needed. The ice cream is really good!
