The White House Sub Shop was opened in October 1946 by Anthony Basile. Along with his Aunt Basilia and Uncle Fritz Sacco, the store became one of the most popular sub shops in the country. It was their dedication and hard work that gave the White House the reputation that it has today.

White House Sub Shop

White House Subs in Atlantic City NJ; a truely historic submarine shop! The original location was opened in 1946 not too far from the Boardwalk in Atlantic City NJ! A lot of "Famous" celebrities have visited there to eat: And when they are in the mood for an "Original" sub from this place, they actually fly into the nearby International airport and have their orders delivered wherever they are in the world! The last time my late aunt and I ate there, we both had tuna subs as we both had to watch our sodium intake. The sandwiches are enormous be prepared to share!

White House Sub Shop

Seems to be always busy, the subs are pretty big and reasonably priced although the prices have gone up. I do like the local feel type of atmosphere. Usually there a line to be seated. Side note: I obviously do not hold the shop in anyway responsible I just want to tell this story. So we came into the shop and we were told to wait in the outside area which we did. A table opened up and this trashy fat white lady pushes in front of me and says they got there first so I try to defend us saying we were obviously in front of her. Then she talks to me like I am dumb (probably because I am Asian), then looks up to my white bf (as if he were the almighty god himself) and decides to nicely talk to him. We didn't want to argue so we let her family go first. Anyway long story short keep an eye out on where you were in line.

White House Sub Shop

Plan to wait, but it's definitely worth it! Went out of our way to get subs here while visiting Jersey, and I'm glad we did. My only suggestion is not to order the White House special unless you like Italian grinders with extra meat. Try the cheese steak or cheeseburger sub with fried onions (grilled onions). Delicious!

White House Sub Shop

The world famous White House sub shop is world famous for a reason! Expect long lines, tight space, and decent but not unbelievable service. It's just a simple sub shop that does quality ingredients and delicious food. I recommend going at weird hours during the summer to avoid long lines. Best when eaten there.

White House Sub Shop

Lived up to the hype! I've read about this shop and finally had the opportunity to walk there before leaving AC. A full sub is huge and could easily feed 2+ people. Thankfully I asked how the ordering process worked and didn't feel out of place while waiting on the line. Next time I'll call ahead and pick up because it can get busy very quickly at this place. I'd definitely revisit here the next time I go down to AC.

They claim their dough comes from one of the famous Atlantic City bread bakeries. The pizza itself is medium-small. The dough is apparently placed on a well-oiled pan, and the whole pie goes into a super hot pizza oven, giving the bottom crust a "fried" quality. The sauce is quite red, "tomatoey", and seems to be of the long- cooked style. The cheese has a rich taste. The staff is quite pleasant, friendly, and efficient.

Best subs in south jersey and their bread is awesome. I know some people like their cheese steaks chopped very finely but I do not. And this place leaves their steak meat a little on the thicker side which is awesome. If you like a thin chopped steak be sure to mention that when you place your order.

White House Sub Shop

Although the subs are very good, the courtesy at best is marginal. When you give the server a $9.00 tip on a $35.00 order and she's too busy talking to someone else to say thank you not to mention shoving the check in your face before you're finished eating the first half of the sub. You definitely have a problem with customer service..

First i stopped at JoJo s when I came off of the garden state coming from NY. I brought two cheese steaks and they were terrible. The three of us split one steak and gave the other one to a homeless man. He told me that if wanted a good steak go to the while house and believe me when I came in AC I BROUGHT ONE OF YOUR STEAKS AND IT WAS SO GOOD THAT WE BROUGHT FOUR CHEESE STEAKS AND LEAVING AC went to where seen that homeless guy and gave him one it our steaks and. When we got to the second rest stop and we brought three sodas and rate our steaks, best steaks that I ever tasted. When we come back down there next weekend first stop in White house.
