Festival Bar

My favorite F word - FREE. Free shows on their loft stage. Cozy (around 25 seats), intimate (plush armchairs and loveseats), and fuuunny!! Great improv! So sad that they closed forever... Maybe they should have charged a little more for the loft shows.

I love it and I miss it. It's only been gone a month, but I have at least 10 years of memories there.

So many memories there. I.O. West is going away on Feb 24, 2017 after 25 years in the same location! Hopefully they find a new location. I O. West is improv comedy at its best! They teach too. I'll miss the place when it goes away.

Fun evening with lots of laughs from some of L.A.'s funniest comics! Good draft beer, too.

I saw the variety spectacular. It wasn't great. Honestly it felt like all the performers spent about 10 minutes putting together what they did. It felt more like a middle school talent show than an actual performance that I paid $10 for. I know $10 isn't a lot, but there are a lot funnier and more entertaining shows in LA that are often free. There was almost no one there, aside from the people performing or working there. Everyone seemed to know each other and I got the impression that they were just trying to get anyone who would to watch the show so that the place wouldn't look totally empty and so that someone would laugh at the jokes. All in all, I wouldn't recommend the show. Go to any free open mic night and watch some stand up, it's a lot more interesting.

If you don't see Cook County Social Club and The Reckoning on Thursdays, you haven't experienced improv. Some of the best longform in the country!

I love this place. Great improv shows and cheap drinks. There's always a nightly drink special to get you good and socially lubricated and the shows are always a blast. You can watch different styles of improv and shows on the same night for the price of your ticket (most of the time). I'm so glad they bounced back after the windows got smashed by an idiot driver. I've also loved this place for a while because they had Shiner Bock on tap.

I found this place not being let into ??Bassnector show at the ??Hollywood Palladium because everybody I went with had a ticket and they were sold out. Best mistake of my life. ?? Super fun. You can see as many shows with one ticket.?? I'm yeah $3?? PBR at the bar.

iO West is a great place to see improv and also a great place to learn improv. If you're a comedy aficionado, you must make it to an iO West show the next time you're in LA. They also have a solid training program that is priced competitively when compared to other improv training schools in LA.
