Great service and tasty sandwiches in a cozy, inviting setting. Just what we needed after a weekend of backpacking! The dinner entrees looked fantastic too; I think I'll be going for one of those next time.
While the staff is friendly, the food is lacking in flavor. We were brought the wrong items on the order, and had to search for our waitress to inform her. She never came back to check or refill our drinks, and they had to replace the fish for being under cooked. You would think these would be simple considerations for what they charge, but it wasn't. Needless to say we will not be returning. $70.00 check for 4 people for lunch no liqueur involved no apology and no offer of compensation. This hadn't been our first choice, but original spot was closed for the day. So if you like flavorless over priced food go for it.
The out side is so dirty. The tables are super wobbly FOLDING TABLES. The table cloths are all torn and our paper napkins we're actually dirty. The inside is very dark but no romantic. Ugh the bathrooms are in bad needof a make over. You can tell the are trying, they have pretty flowers around. The burger was so good but the garlic fries were lacking.
We stopped in to try this place because we had heard so much about it. Apparently there are two eating areas and we were asked if we wanted to listen to live music while we ate... we did, so we were brought to the back room where a 3 piece band played folk songs. There was a guitar, a banjo, and a fiddle player there and they all played really well.
The food consisted mostly of American comfort food, and I ordered the fried chicken.
I was SHOCKED when it arrived... What I got was less of a fried chicken and more of a fried velociraptor. It was HUGE, and it was only a half a chicken! The breast alone was almost as big as some whole rotisserie style chickens I have bought at places like safeway.
The chicken was tasty and well cooked... Normally I can eat everything on my plate, but I ended up having to take it home because of the sheer volume of food.
We enjoyed it and will be back.
Nothing like a good lunch and a beer at the end of a day hiking or skiing! This is a favorite stop on the way home from the Tahoe area. The menu has variety for everyone in a sit down and be served casual environment. Friendly and responsive service. Good, casual meals.
Great food, very sweet staff, and dog friendly! Went there after a hike and they were so sweet. Our waitress brought my dog a nice big bucket of water. Very relaxing patio area.
Great home cooking with an expansive menu and large portions - count on getting a to go box. I love their hearty breakfasts and they offer wonderful salads and a great variety of tasty entrees.
It's best to go there on off hours as the service is much better. I would recommend the beef barley soup and the fish and chips. The reason for 3 stars is I went when it was very busy so the servers were not as attentive.
Super. Food quality and service. We we're driving back from Tahoe to Sac and thank you Google maps for directing us here.
Excellent Lobster Benedict - lots of lobster at just a buck more and my son's enjoyed their burgers thoroughly.
Menu is extensive and had a hard time deciding!
Love the Sportmans Hall. Great food, nice atmosphere and such friendly servers. You can always find the owner, Aimee in the restaurant greeting customers and making sure they are happy. She is warm and friendly, just like her staff. No surprise she is a great success. Wishing her all the luck. We frequent at a minimum of once a week, sometimes twice. Great location, plenty of parking (and a nice warm fire on cold days)
They are very attentive, and will do what they can to cater to your food requests.
They have a full bar, electric fire place, outside dining-weather permitting, and very friendly servers and owner.
The service is excellent, the food delicious, and the atmosphere friendly. Portion sizes are huge, there’s always a prime rib on offer, and breakfast is served almost all day. The menu selection is amazing!
Definitely the place to stop to and from Tahoe.
Wow, I am stuffed! The wife and I have been here many times. We do breakfast. We tried lunch. And we absolutely love coming here for dinner. The food is awesome, and the serving size will definitely have you happy with a full belly. Highly recommend this place.
I enjoy the atmosphere, & service is great & everyone is friendly & helpful. The meals are very tasty, & the desserts are wonderful. This restaurant is where we take out of town friends & relatives. The atmosphere & historic wall hangings never cease to amaze me. I’m very grateful that we have a great eatery very near our home, in wonderful Pollock Pines, Ca.
I give Sportsmen’s Hall 5 stars
