I NEVER GET A DRINK HERE. PLUS I NEVER WIN ANYTHING. SOME OF THE STAFF IS NICE AND SOME ARE JUST EVIL. THE WOMEN AND SECURITY AT THE FRONT DOOR ARE THE BEST. THEY MAKE YOU FEEL WELCOME AND INVITED. THATS WHERE MY 4 STARS COME FROM. THE INSIDE IS DULL AND NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE MANNERS.

If I could write this review with zero stars, I would. This place is the absolute worst. The casino staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. My husband and I waited an extra hour in the morning to spend the food credit that we earned only to find out that something was wrong with the fryer. When we stated that we only wanted sandwiches, they couldn’t do that either. The reason behind it was because it wasn’t sanitary. They had “no water to clean with.” The waitresses rarely come around for drink orders, and if you want something simple, like a coke or water, they will direct you to a place to serve yourself. If you want an alcoholic beverage, you can watch them stand around and gossip for 15 minutes before someone finally makes a drink. One of the bartenders was extremely drunk and obnoxiously yelling out that she was going to beat the f*** out of someone. I can go on and on about the unpleasant experience and rude staff. There was one thing good about this place and it was the hotel bar. The guys there were so nice, the food came out quick, and after waiting 2 hours in the casino, we got to spend our food credit.

This review is a 2 borderline 3. And the only reason it was given a 3, because their staff was extremely nice in all parts the hotel and casino. I Was a little disappointed in the Hotel, upon check in, You had to read this long policy about their no smoking in the hotel. Which I'm fine with as I don't smoke. When I got to my Room the 1st thing was the entire Room smell like smoke. And bathroom was still dirty from the sink to its sticky floors. The 2nd Room was better. The hotel seems to be going through some changes or at least trying to keep it together. Unfortunately little patch jobs don't give you the kind of experience you're looking for from a classy hotel. Thank you to the staff.

Nice rooms, decent size. Employees at front desk was extremely nice and had lots of information about area. Some thing's are dated in the hotel but for location and price definitely easy to over look. Enjoying staying here as I type

I was so happy to stay here after a long day of driving. Clean, comfortable rooms and killer breakfast in the morning. Loved the gated/secure parking (kept my mind at ease). Also, being so close to the veteran memorial(s) and the Mississippi River was awesome. I’ll be back to enjoy again!

This hotel had the most unfriendly, rude & unwelcoming staff I’ve ever witnessed. It appears that all the girls that worked the front desk absolutely hate their jobs. I have no idea why they’re working in hospitality. None of them know what that is. This by far is The WORST hotel I’ve stayed in. Absolutely terrible. Everyone at our family reunion complained about the poor customer service. We stayed 3 nights & our bed only was made by housekeeping one time, our trash was not dumped & towels weren’t replaced. The corporate office needs to hire new staff because the current front desk employees are ruining the brand. Do not waste your money, do NOT stay at this hotel. You will be disappointed. If I could give this hotel a zero, I would.

Absolutely fantastic location right on the river with an amazing atrium but rather dated amenities and very average cafe masquerading as a hotel restaurant during the week. Rooms are comfortable and the cockroaches are small but do not include fridge, microwave or coffee machine. Be warned that the price is deceptively low partly because they add a mandatory fee which is 'refunded' as gambling tokens which can only be used in their video gaming machines which are rigged to prevent refunds and have extremely poor pay rates - our $20 disappeared in a few minutes. Other than that, the service is good and the staff friendly and helpful.

Many of the floor staff, the slot techs and the servers are very good. Certain security staff are great too. But a good majority of the younger security staff are basically worthless. Most of the younger servers would rather talk with the younger security staff than do their job. Much of the clientele are rude and obnoxious as well. The food is average at best and food service is terrible. The parking lot stinks of urine and illegal parking is the norm. It appears that the Belle is money hungry and will tolerate any manner of behavior, so long as they can get into your wallet. It's sad to see how far this place has declined in the past 5 years. Don't go out of your way to visit this place. Regarding the alleged Belle response -This review isn't a summary of my "last" experience, but a summary of the overall decline of a once favored gaming spot in Baton Rouge. The regression of quality became obvious about 2-3 years ago and your facility has gone steadily and swiftly downhill ever since. Your "upgrades" are quite a mystery, as little if anything has changed since the conversion of the old Butler's Pantry quick-bite shop to the new, larger, but inferior quality food served in the new snack shop. The parking issues, both the illegal yet tolerated car parking and the overall evening safety of the parking garage are simply not tolerable. Granted, you've managed to eliminate most of the street-people from the casino floor and I'll give you your props for that improvement. But the general condition of the facility is a joke, including broken plumbing in the restrooms, elevator issues in the garage AND on the boat, HVAC with a mind of its own on the promenade, the lost and as of yet to be replaced main restaurant (Shuck's on the Levee)… you want more??? On the bright side, you're in the same "boat" as your friends up the river at the Hollywood Gambling Pit. My guess is that with the new ownership, neither one of you is destined to exist much longer. I only feel badly for those employees who are close to retirement, as they are basically the only decent staff members you have, save 2-3 of the older servers. As previously stated, your younger staff doesn't know how to or just doesn't care to work, but that's common to the age group. As service and standards continue to decline, so will your revenues. I doubt if relocating the gaming floor into the Atrium, with it's leaking roof and even harder to reach location is going to save your bacon.

Had breakfast. Order was wrong. I specifically asked for something to be omitted from my omelet, but it looked like they put extra. $3 for grits, $1 extra for cheese. Grits were in a small bowl with a slice of cheese on top. Food wasn't brought out in a presentable, appealing way.

How bad is this place? Let me count the ways..... I paid for a king room and when I checked in they said they were out. They said since I reserved my room through Expedia they could not refund me the difference. I understand that but they didn't even try to make it up with a complimentary drink or anything for that matter. The rooms were stinky and nasty to the touch. Looked like the shower walls had never been cleaned. The grout had mold and mildew. The casino wasn't much better either. Very dirty and not a single employee bothered to say hello, welcome, can we help you or even good bye. You're better off at a motel 6. At least they'll leave the light on for ya!

I stayed at The Belle of BR in March because I needed to take care of personal business in New Orleans, originally during a weekend that was sold out because of a medical convention. I LOVED IT! The staff couldn't have been nicer from the bellmen, front desk, gift area & security personnel. I came back late in the evenings and went to the casino area to get a ready-to-order muffaletta which was totally awesome. It may not be the newest hotel in BR, but it was clean and just what I needed to have available to stay in. I will definitely book reservations again!! Even if I just to to New Orleans for play, the 1 hour drive was worth it. And Baton Rouge is a very cool place!!

Sheets were clean and bed was comfortable. No frills stay but wasn't expected. Room was slightly dirtier than what you expect but overall not too bad. Room was no smoking but still smelled like someone had smoked there.

Straight ghetto. They start giving gifts @ 2:00 pm, no gifts by 4:00pm and the gifts are being giving away until 8:00pm. The floors on the casino floor are sticky and black. I'm usually there for 2 or 3 hours before even seeing a waitress. You can tell by your visit the next morning to your bathroom, the grease used to fry food is not changed often enough. The elevators are always nasty and has strong smells. Then to top it off, you pretty much never win. This place needs some MAJOR changes. As of yesterday, they lost me as a customer!!!!!
