They're not very good at catering to those with food sensitivities. Ordered my food with no dairy, steak was served in a puddle of melted butter. Baked potato served with butter and ranch. By the time anyone checked on me, everyone else was done eating, so the server said they would fix me a other one. All they did was take the butter-drenched meat and pack it up for me. :(
It's been years since I've been to Lester's, and time has not been kind to this fine dining establishment. We went recently to celebrate my wife's birthday and we both had similar conclusions. For a steak House, it is okay. The steaks are cooked to order. The sides are not as good as we remembered. The Caesar salad had too much dressing and was not well balanced, too little acidity. The wait staff was adequate, but not up to fine dining standards. We had to remind them to bring the bottle of wine with the main course. Just didn't feel it was worth the price we paid.
Delicious food that's worth the priceyness. Awesome dessert cart. Very old fashioned. The guy who brings bread to the tables has a great entertaining routine for describing each type of bread. He's the best!
The food is delicious! Don't order an appetizer. Enjoy six kinds of bread with three kinds of butter. Say hi to Dennis, who waits on customers from start to finish.
Our last visit was about two weeks ago. My husband had the steak special with the crab meat and I always have the crab meat salad. Both entres were delicious. Our salad was the tomato and mozzarella cheese--excellent and vegetable was asparagus --very good. Please do NOT discontinue the crab salad. It is "to die for" delicious!!! Plan on going back as soon as possible. Service is very good and the breads are a meal in itself. Desserts are out of this world, if we are able to have that--usually too full.
