If you love the smell of cigarettes, then this is the place for you. Also do not use your top comforter, they do not wash those. (& make sure to check for bed bugs!)

Resort had great customer service the past two times we were on Vermilion. Clean rooms and very accommodating as we traveled with my sister in her wheelchair.

For a casino it's not the worst BUT it's crazy expensive (there are many fees in addition to the room fee so make sure you're prepared for your bill to be higher than expected!). Extremely noisy. I had hoped that the reviews about noisy air conditioners only reflected a couple rooms but either it's all the rooms or I'm super unlucky - the air conditioner has a crazy annoying tin rattle. It's not the normal noise that helps you sleep. It's intermittent and obnoxious. Also, you can hear every drunken conversation in the hallway. For the price I definitely expect my room to be more classy and quiet! Also I lost an item and this is the only hotel I've ever been in with a lost item that couldn't find the item. Booo! Don't forget about the smell of cigarettes. ICK. I give it 2 stars because it's not the worst casino ever... they can be pretty seedy... but compared to regular hotels at the price point it's a big no thanks for me!

This is my Favorite casino, ive always done well, but besides the gaming, staff is friendly, our room is always clean, beds are super comfy, good food. And The Wilderness is my all time Favorite golf course...5 stars overall.

I have never stayed at a room that was so loud in my life. Could hear the neighbors conversation clear as day. HVAC system was too loud to let run, even the bathroom fan sounded like a jet taking off. I travel a lot and have never had a room like this in my life. Will not be back anytime soon.

This is a great escape from the city. They have lakefront on Vermillion and it's very peaceful. There's a trail in the woods also. The hotel is clean and the staff is nice, the food is good. The pool and hot tub and sauna are nice. I've stayed here twice and I'm sure I'll go again.

Great time meeting with friends and family. Enjoyed playing slots. Staff was excellent and friendly and looking forward to going back!

Anyone who loses bunch of money then leaves a poor review for it is just stupid....stay home stupid. Casino is nice with a good variety of slots and card games. Superb golf course and on one of nicest lakes in Minnesota. They give out good perks too if you are a players club member. My only complaint would be the pool area, it seems a little small and outdated.

It's what you would expect from an aging casino. Staff is always friendly and helpful, buffet not so good. Deli has good food. Pool area is aging and room hvac loud and none consistent.

First time gambling at a casino and I’m glad it was at Fortune Bay. Loved the laid back atmosphere which included smoking indoors (!!!), greats drink, many places to sit, delicious food, super friendly staff, and never ending amusement. The Bay is THE place to go to have a good time either with friends or alone. Can’t wait to go back!

Rooms are terrible. Found blood on pillow, bathroom fan didn't work, heat/ cooling was filthy and half broken, shower rod hanging, door bumper loose almost falling off... Much more neglect , ate at the buffet, 50$ for two people, ten whole thing's to choose from, none of it was cooked well ...I mean worst food I ever had and I gave it all a try, empty drink on table whole time... No one asked if I would like more, filthy high chair, rude customer service... Check for bed bugs and buy food from elsewhere

Been going down hill every time. The deli sucks, always items crossed off the menu. Speaking of menu don't ask for one there to cheap to make them. The greasy guy at the counter said I bet you could take a picture. F.U. Touched wall in my suite and vent fell from wall. both patio doors had to be slammed or wouldn't latch. Fireplace was dirty as he'll. At least it worked this time. Had a rash for 3 days now from hot tub. Used my players card and lost money fast. Took it out and won immediately.

Shockingly beautiful venue! Staff very helpful and friendly. Received a room overlooking finish line of Arrowhead 135 without even asking and was there waiting for my husband to finish. Perfect! Beautiful decor, clean rooms with nice interior design.

I have been at Fortune Bay on numerous occasions for numerous reasons. This place is awesome! Beds are comfy, pool is great, breakfast buffet tastes amazing, and the Woodlands Ballroom is one of the best conference rooms you will find in the Northland. This place is definitely worth a few night's stay. There's fun for everyone, not just the gamblers in the family. The kids will love the arcade!

Fortune Bay is by far my favorite casino in Minnesota. Their hotel rooms are clean and well maintained, the beds are comfortable and the hotel staff has always been more then willing to cater to our needs. Their pool was just the right temperature to make it cool and relaxing but not too cold since it was so cold outside when we were there. During the summer months they also offer golf on one of the nicer golf courses in the area. The casino floor at Fortune Bay has just the right mix of slots, black jack and poker to keep anyone happy. Overall I'd recommend The Bay to anyone looking for a short getaway trip.

Years ago this was the place to be. Now it is not as good. The place has really gone down hill. I think the management is the issue. It seems like there is no management. Lines for deli are ridiculous, you sit and watch your food get cold in the window until the cashier realizes there is something sitting there. The deli staff is rude and move at the snail pace, no management seen. The buffet also is lacking management and not that great of staff. The biggest disappointment was the steak house. Hardly any staff, certainly NO management and it took forever for a drink and food. No music in the steak house, previously they had great romantic music playing. Room cleanliness has gone down hill too. The slots were VERY tight, even other friends have reported big losses. We won't be back sadly :(
