5 star for our waiter Joshua.
5 star for the bread and rosemary garlic butter.
5 star for our side items
4 star for our steaks. Thier ribeye was a little bit tougher than I am accustomed to being served. The fillet appeared to be cooked properly after cutting into it but after tasting was only slightly warm.
This is the place to eat, me and my husband LOVE going here. Everything from the house dressing on the salad (which is to die for) to the homemade bread (dont forget to use the honey butter) the parmesan encrusted asparagus is amazing highly reccomend. And their steaks are always great with the melted garlic butter on top. My husband almost always gets a berry cheesecake to go because we are always stuffed by the time we are done but he can't resist cheesecake (they even put the berries in a side container so it doesn't make the cheesecake mushy)
It was very busy for a Wednesday . Neat way to get on wait list. They used your Cell to message you as to when table ready. We actually had our name on Grill wait list too. Easy to cancel thou. We had an appetizer and entree Walleye & Chicken Marsala. Both were excellent. We had a great server, Kathy, so attentive. Great service, great food, good price.
I've been lucky enough to go to several steakhouses around the country. They've all varied in price. The first surprise surrounding Winds was the cost. I was certain that the prices were going to be more comparable to that of a big city steakhouse. I am happy to say that I was wrong. My next thought was then the food itself won't be that great. Again, I was wrong - very wrong. Not only is this place very affordable, the quality of their steak was very good. The icing on the cake was the service I received. The server I had was very attentive to my needs and was sure to check that I received everything as I ordered it. She was great. Considering the location of this steakhouse, the overall cost, and how good the food is, they are deserving of five stars. Yes, there are better places but you'd better be ready to drive an hour or more to get there. Then you might be rolling the dice on the service. You can't beat this place for the cost.
Hands down, best steakhouse in the area! We love the ambiance, service and food. We ordered drinks at the bar and can guarantee a great martini from Courtney. We ask for Angie to be our server because we are sure of a perfect evening w/her and Manager Lisa at the helm. We've enjoyed having Heidi and Zach as servers too--stars all. This time we switched from steaks to walleye (asked to leave off the herbs). Perfect (see the pic). Mike loves the 5 cheese potatoes. I was glad I tried Chef John's Cream of Mushroom soup--numm! We both love the House Salad--I wish I could replicate it. Next visit we'll meet up w/our friends who love it too!
The food quality is what you'd expect at a high end steakhouse but the price was much lower. I highly recommend. Excellent service and value. Will definitely be back if I'm ever up that way again.
