We had started at the Nugget, which was depressing, and my hopes weren't high for Crystal Bay; however, I was pleasantly surprised, as it married old school charm with new world casino. The staff is charming, and the cocktails were above par! We will come back, definitely.
It is a casino so I suppose it doesn't rate five stars ever. I went to see a show in the showroom and for the show I saw it had seating on a first-come-first-serve basis. I was very grateful to have a seat because I've been there before for other events and the room was very crowded and difficult to stand for the entire show. I've been going to the Crystal Bay Casino for 40 years and nothing much has changed. The parking garage is adequate and covered which is helpful during stormy weather.from experience I can tell you it is a great place to lose money or see a show. These days I choose the shows.
What a gem next to Lake Tahoe! I have driven by it lots of times but finally had to come see a show here, what a venue! We'll be back for sure, loved it and had a little luck in the casino so that helped!
Attended the Eric Johnson accoustic concert in the Club show room. Great sound and the room is comfortable. This was a seated show, but most other shows here are SRO.
I’m rating the HOTEL it’s disgusting. Worn out furniture, old bath room sinks, carpet has pieces missing, there was a strange odor in my room and vaguely reminded me of vomit. A whole can of Lysol would not make my room habitable. The hotel across the street is in the same condition, disgusting
Our whole group of 15 people checked out and went to the Hyatt 4 miles down the road.
I had a chance encounter with the bread delivery guy @ 4am this morning. White guy, skinny, scraggly dirty blonde shoulderlength hair, in need of some personal hygiene. He was driving a white van passing the company van delivery three bread trays of the premade bread. I am so happy that we switched hotels can you imagine if his hygiene is like that what the hygiene of the cook that prepared the bread is an his hands look like.
Not the best casino but not the worst. They have great and regular performances that are popular with the Tahoe locals. Craps tables make this the only viable casino in North lake Tahoe.
Very nice people. Especially the security. I felt safe and was treated like a queen. Never had so much fun like I do when I go to see a show there. Great venues! All at The Crystal Bay Club.
Sure it's not the swanky Vegas-level casino some may be used to, but for the Nevada border, it get's the job done! It's fun grabbing local brews at Mellow Fellow, snapping a state-line photo, and going over to one of the casinos. You can expect it to be pretty mellow, but good if you want your group to have a table to yourselves. Who can beat $5 craps table?! Slow casinos mean low limits, accommodating staff, and drinks on the regular. Worth the stop!
Fun place. Great Shows. The Bistro has great Acai bowls & health food aside from regular cafe food. I stay at the biltmore across the street, since the Crystal Bay Club doesn't host hotel rooms.
