Only reason they are getting a 2 instead of a 1 is the cleanliness and friendliness of the bowling lanes. The smoke odor is terrible. As you walk through the front door it hits you in a plume. Although a smoke smell is to be expected in the casino area, the odor extends through the hallways and even into the no smoking rooms themselves (which are the closest rooms to the casino for some illogical reason). As an exsmoker myself, I've never experienced an odor this strong. We had to turn on the AC, open the window, keep on the bathroom fan, and put a towel under the door to make it bearable. Will never stay here again. Would have left but the $ was nonrefundable

I am not huge on hotel stays but this place was very nice. Their food was delicious and well-prepared in the Casino part of it. Only reason I docked them to 4 stars was because someone was smoking in the non-smoking part of the Hotel! Otherwise, beautiful accommodations and lovely staff!

Wonderful stay at Gold Dust! Loved the bowling alley and business center & clean restrooms for our 2 month RV park stay. We even had an issue come up with the lawn people breaking our car’s side view mirror while weed-eating, and the parks insurance covered it no problem. Very low drama and peaceful place to stay. Loved the cows out back behind our spot and beautiful views of the mountains! Thanks again

We made a a quick stop at the RV park on our way home. The sites were closely placed but the lot was small so didn't seem crowded. The facilities clean and well maintained. Especially nice was the front office reception which was very helpful and friendly... enjoyed our short stay.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights. We enjoyed our stay and would return if we were ever in the area. The trees are in the way of your awning, but it was so windy we couldn't put it out anyway. The breakfast special and the prime rib dinner are really good. We stayed in a 35ft 5th wheel. Had to park our truck outside in the parking lot, but it was not a problem.

I stayed there for the 1st time last Tuesday night since I had an early doctor appt in Carson City Wednesday. Being a local, I checked reviews on all the hotel/motels in Carson City and Gold Dust West sounded the best. They sure did live up to their reviews! Beautiful room, comfy king size bed, tv, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, wifi (free) all up to date. They honored my special request to be close to casino and restaurants as I can't walk too far. Very friendly staff. Machines were great (kept me up way past I should have been awake). Service is wonderful. If you ever need a place to stay in Carson City, this is the place. Also, the rates are great! Others in town are cheaper but you get what you pay for!

Best Fajitas in town! I order beef fajitas and pay 3 bucks more for extra beef and share with a friend! Corn or flour tortillas, spanish rice and beans as well as chips and pico de gallo, green chili salsa and spicy cabbage make for a crazy good meal. Eat in the restaurant area or at the Ole Ole bar and notice how friendly and knowledgeable the bartender Katherine is! Checking into the hotel took much longer than usual. I think the gal was new and trying to be thorough.
