My wife picked this place for its seafood choices, turned out that the "signature dishes" were unavailable because of a kitchen problem. She had oysters, which she liked, clam chowder, which she considered inferior to New England chowder, and we both had the Chateaubriand, which was outstanding. At least the meat. Vegetables were a tad too undercooked. Dessert was very good. Draft beer choices were limited. Wait staff was very attentive, sometimes we had to slow them down though. Overall, enjoyed the experience.

Food is on par with Fleming's and Ruth Chris, but at a much affordable price. Unfortunately they are going to turn this Sterling's into a Ruth Chris. So I imagine the quality of the food will remain the same, but I assume at a higher price. Another really good steakhouse is the Steakhouse in Western village (also great food at a great price).

The servers are amazing!!! Ramon was the main reason the experience was tolerable. He was very attentive and made sure you were served well! However, the actual food/entrees are severely lacking. My $50 porterhouse was atrocious. It did not taste like a medium rare steak. It did not have any flavor. Honestly tasted like it had been previously frozen. If you are paying $49 for a porterhouse I would hope it would be as fresh as possible. My local butcher provides fresh, grass fed porterhouses at $13.99 per lbs and I can grill it at medium rare for way less than Sterling's price. The king crab legs were not worth the price. They tasted as if they were previously frozen. In fairness their description and price on the menu did not state they were fresh. However for $90 " market price" for king crab legs you would hope they would be as fresh as possible. That is not the case and your hard earned cash is better spent somewhere else. Somewhere else in Reno NV I do not know to be honest. All I know is to stay away from Sterling's so called steakhouse and seafood as it is neither! Find a decent restaurant place away from the tourist traps is my recommendation.

We have been dining at Sterling's for many years. AWESOME food, wine and staff! We are going to miss this place. The annual Western Propane Gas Association Reno Convention & trade show just isn't going to be the same due to Sterling's closing. 😂😂😂

Bearnaise tasted pure vinegar. Steak not cooked as ordered. French onion soup looked microwaved not baked in oven, the onions was not caramelized.

Every single thing we ate was full of flavor and absolutely delicious! The crab cake is the best we've ever had, as well as the potatoes, fettuccine alfredo and (simple enough) vanilla ice cream! The steaks were cooked to perfection! I'm so very sad to hear of their closing. Thank you for a fantastic meal!

Best steakhouse in town!!! Just went to the Mother's day buffet it was so worth an hours wait. So sad it was the last buffet at Sterling's

Very nice. A touch pricey but it is a bit more of a formal setting. Service was exceptional! Food was well prepared and very good. Definetly go again.

I wasn't sure what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. Reservations are a must! This establishment is high end in every aspect. The service was impeccable, everyone very attentive but never obtrusive. Servers very knowledgeable of the menu and wine list (which is excellent). Elegant atmosphere. But the star is definitely the food. From the appetizers, salads, and entries. All were prepared very well and the flavors were spot on. Looking forward to the next time I'm in town.
