Open air and indoor seating. Good views from upstairs open area. Well priced sandwiches and happy hours start at 3pm to 5pm. Good drink prices and appetizers. Located in Gardeners Basin, AC.

I have eaten here for many years & have always had a great meal till this Tuesday. As usual, the drinks & staff were great, but the food was terrible. We always get the jerk wings, & for some reason, the recipe was different, & not in a good way. My husband got the fish tacos, ate 1 & said they weren't good. Even the old Bay fries weren't good. I absolutely love this place & was extremely disappointed... especially since our bill for 3 people was $166... without tip. Bummed

Don’t understand how they have a 4.5 on google reviews. It was adequate at best. Service was so slow. Had to ask for silverware. Was not busy food took forever and took forever to get a refill. The cod was very salty but the crab cake was decent. Wouldn’t go back. I guess for a dive bar and fun drinks it would be an okay night.

Wanted to try a restaurant off of the broad walk and not in a casino in AC. Had an average experience. Location was very cool because it is on the bay. Food was okay but nothing super special. We got the chips and dip appetizer. Dips were good but the chips were a bit too salty. For our main course my husband and I both got burgers which our waitress recommended. The burgers were good but nothing sensational. Our lunch bill for the appetizer, two burgers (they come with chips, you must pay extra for fries), and ice tea came to $38.

Whenever we do a day at the beach, we look forward to dinner at the Back Bay Ale House. The place just reminds me of the shore. We sat on the porch and the service, drinks and food were delicious! My margarita was perfect...not too sweet and not too sour. The cream of crab soup is so good. The mussels, were the best...tender and no sand. I had the Cali cobb salad and it was fresh and presented beautifully. The Guinness burger, by far, is one of the juiciest, flavorful burgers around. I need to take more trips to the shore, so we can visit the Back Bay Ale House again.

Our server was fantastic. And the crab cakes were delicious. Though I wish there were more fish options on the entree menu that are not breaded than the appetizer menu.

Getting our food served to us took so very long as we saw others getting their orders way ahead of ours. Food was just okay, we have had much better meals there in the past. This was Father's Day at 5 and they had run out of crabs shrimp and a couple other items sorry to say. Definitely will be a while before we return to this restaurant.

Pleasant. Great drinks. Best burgers in Jersey. Excellent seafood. Always packed Friday, Saturday and Sunday for lunch. Get there early!

Drinks are good and views are nice outside but it smells funky inside. The food is pretty much all fried food that is maybe average.

Amazing food, amazing drinks, and amazing servers! Couldn’t have picked a better place for dinner while in AC!! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for somewhere to eat or drink!!

This place rocks! The food here is awesome, the service is impestable. The bar keeps are friendly and some of the most beautiful women in Atlantic City work here! As I said I Jonathan Lloyd will be coming back for some time to come!

Always great food, from the wings, Carmine (garlic & hot pepper shrimp & crab meat), to burgers, variety of seafood, and always a great steak. Decent prices. Nice mix of local craft beer. Always great service...staff are friendly, patient & knowledge in their menu.

We have visited here several times this summer. This restaurant is, by far, the number 1 favorite of my wife and I. The crab cakes (creole remoulade makes it!) are the best we've ever eaten and the jerk chicken wings melt in your mouth. The mason jar drinks are always delicious and the convenience of a free slip for the boat and free music on the nearby pier on summer weekends makes the Back Bay Ale House one of a kind. We have never had bad service and it is usually excellent service. The wait staff are all attentive and know the menu. Great place! (or did I already mention that?)

Do not under any circumstances order the $18.Carmine Appetizer.....it is beyond tiny (like tea cup sized) for the price. A real disgrace. Very pricey for the food when you don't provide chips for your sandwiches and consider an "upgrade" to include fries. I tried to order the Crab Cake Po Boy which is online menu but not available when you called. The roll was STALE. Am a local and will not be ordering for here again.

Two words: Mason Jars!! When ever we spend the day on the water Back bay is our go to for lunch. We park our boat at the marina and head on over for drinks and food. Jerk chicken is a must! Oh and ask for Rachel- she's our favorite server. Always quick, funny and smiling.
