Fabulous place, great healthy food selection, tasty and a beautiful environment. The architecture and style of this place is organic and chic! I will absolutely recommend, especially the blackened tempeh avocado sandwich. If you are not vegan, and never have tried vegan food, you will not believe how amazing this is. Kyle is an extraordinary person, and you can tell that he loves his job and runs the restaurant with class, and professionalism. All the team gave us the best service. We are very happy and will be recommending it to all of our friends and family!
A remarkable vegan restaurant (described by the amazing owner as being part of preventative, rather than interventional, cardiology) with a delicious, varied, and interesting menu! All of the appetizers, entrees, and desserts that we (a group of eight adults and five children) tried were delicious and satisfying. The cashew cheese and cauliflower wings were huge hits right off the bat, and our servers were incredibly thoughtful and attentive.
If you're looking for a vegan place with incredibly good food, an impressive drink menu, and wonderful service, this is your place! Looking forward to our next visit!
Gnocchi was delicious, wonderful to see so many gluten free options. I found out they had cauliflower wings so I ordered those which came with BBQ, Buffalo and ranch sauce, all 3 were EXTRA yummy! Then topped it all off with a scrumptious New York cheesecake with goji berries and chocolate. Awesome place, will come again soon!
Great vegan food. It’s awesome to have one of these restaurants when my mom is dairy intolerant. I don’t have photos of the amazing vegan meals but the cashew ice cream and root beer floats are surprisingly tasty. The ice cream alone is a little too much cashew for me, but the sweetness of the root beer evened it out. All this being said, it’s obviously not a place for someone who enjoys “heartier, soulful” food/meat and cheese like my dad and boyfriend. But it’s well worth the try!
I have been here twice so far. Once for dinner and once for lunch. The food is amazing. I love the dinner menu. The desearts are awesome. Love the environment and staff was great. I wish there were more like this closer to Romeo. But worth the travel. Love that this restaurant is owned by a doctor. That says so much. Great place highly recommend.
Have to change my review. Last three times here spread over months, ordering the same meals, each time the meal was prepared completely differently. When I have found something on the menu I like I want the same presentation the next time I order it. That's a fundamental currently missing here.
Nice staff. Too much dependent on alliums. Creative chefs use ginger and turmeric, not onions and garlic.
Hopefully the excellent staff will keep people coming back until the recipes catch up.
Great location. Clean and beautiful. Good vegetarian menu but not great. Everything heavy on cheap carbs like rice, potatoes and beans. Kind of vegetarian for non-vegetarians. That said, I still give it 4* because of atmosphere, location and good customer service. Try it and see, but food could improve to make me a regular.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, lively location! I went to GreenSpace for brunch while I was in town visiting a friend and was blown away by the food! Everything on the menu looked good, but I ordered the tofu scramble, potatoes, and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was everything I ever wanted and more, and I was impressed with the tofu scramble. Oddly, not a lot of vegan restaurants make a decent tofu scramble, but GreenSpace passed the test! The decor and atmosphere enhanced by meal. It's got a fresh, modern zen vibe that felt calm and welcoming. My only disappointment is that I don't live nearby! If I did, this place would be my number one pick when dining out.
Healthy and delicious. The crew is super cool and at a beautiful spot on barton springs. The ingredients were colorful, fresh, perfectly cooked, seasoned deliciously, and felt like good medicine for body. Will definitely be back!
The worst experience I have ever had. I am vegan and wanted to try a new vegan restaurant. I was so excited to finally go to Green Space Cafe, but when I walked in we were ignored by the hostess and when we finally sat down the waiter was rude and awkward. He made us feel uncomfortable and assumed we were not vegan because he kept repeating that it was a plant-based restaurant. Everyone there was so stuck-up and uptight. The food was not what I expected. It was tasteless and overpriced. Never going back there.
Love the ambiance this place has to offer! I also love the idea - delicious sounding vegetarian food at reasonable prices; however, the food leaves something to be desired. It's just not very flavorful.
Don't get me wrong. The food is amazing, the drinks are wonderful, and the atmosphere is fun, but our waitress--Claire-- completely ruined the mood. We accidentally knocked over a cocktail and broke a glass, and we're apologizing profusely, and for the rest of the meal, she gave us the worst attitude, as if we had personally pissed in her Wheaties. The busboy who cleaned up after us was very nice and caring about us, and deserves a waitstaff position where he can earn HER tips. I understand that people have bad days, but as someone who has worked in many areas of the service industry--dont take your crappy night out on the guest. Especially when they're trying so desperately to be polite to you.
Very nice atmosphere and high vibe vegetarian foods. These are important factors.
Cashew cheese was great. Just buy the whole cheese wheel for $9 the appetizer board was a little weak for $15 IMO.
The menu is a little short. Quantities are fair prices slightly high. May be a better spot for drinks and light food in general unless you don't mind a high bill for 2. Although I did share a gnocchi dish and was satisfied. Enjoyable and Worth it overall.
I went in to GreenSpace Cafe with excitement, knowing that they are a plant based restaurant and are supposed to have good food. I left feeling disappointed and overcharged.
I ordered tacos and my wife ordered a bowl. When the meals arrived to the table, they both looked very good. My wife's bowl was a good portion size, but I only received 2 small tacos with some pinto beans and a green sauce (for $15). For the price, I would expect 3 tacos. My tacos were seasoned well and tasted good, but my wife's bowl wasn't anything special.
We had the pistachio and mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert and both were delicious.
The restaurant decoration is very classy and eco-friendly.
Maybe we got unlucky with our menu choices, but with all the other vegan and vegetarian restaurants in metro Detroit, I can't say my wife and I will be back there anytime soon.
I can't say enough about this place! The only upscale vegan restaurant with a full bar that everyone can enjoy. No kidding, meat lovers, try it. Owned by international best selling author and heart surgeon, Dr Joel Kahn, every dish is as good for you as it is delicious. And uplifting experience every time, you never know what celebrity you will find their! Excellent Service as well.
Very unimpressed!
We were very excited but walked out very disappointed
The menu was very minimal, and of the things that were on the menu they were out of half of them. Even a basic bread with hummus dish.
The food tasted generally the same, with just different consistency, spicy even tho they said it wasn't.
I waited 10 mins for soda to arrive.
I've eaten there 2 times already - third time will be Monday. All my friends loved it too! Atmosphere is wonderful - food is even better. Delicious and healthy - can't beat that!
Was very excited to try GreenSpace out - have been looking for vegetarian/vegan option a bit lighter than the similar veggie options in Ferndale.
Was very pleased with the mushroom soup and 'Greenspace' salad - fresh, well prepared, and not too long of a wait even with the dining room at capacity. The space itself is thoughtfully designed/intimate, and the jazz playlist which was playing was well curated.
Recommended!
We had the distinct pleasure of enjoying a lovely meal and conversation at GreenSpace Cafe last night. Everything we tried was phenomenal. From the Cheese board to the salads, the Gnocchi to the amazing deserts (the CHEESECAKE!). Every dish was artfully prepared, bursting with flavor and exciting for the tastebuds while nourishing our bodies.
Thank you for committing yourselves to bring such a refined treat to the Metro Detroit area. As my husband said on the way out, "I didn't even miss the meat, I know where I'll be taking you for our next date night!"
