Update (12/24): Steve— Thank you for your prompt response. If you are willing to compensate us with a free stay at the Showboat, I will give your establishment another chance and will consider revising my review. Original Post (12/23): The emptiness of the Showboat is unsettling. There are no slot machines, tables, or games of any kind on the floor, and all of the restaurants and shops are closed, which creates an eerie atmosphere. We left the casino and went to the Tropicana instead for dinner and dancing. Our party booked two rooms but, even though we had requested adjoining rooms and the hotel was a ghost town, our request could not be satisfied. Instead we were placed directly next door to a family with young children, who, starting at 5 AM, started running through the halls, screaming, and continuously slamming doors. No logical reasoning can explain why we were placed on the same floor, let alone side-by-side. When we called down to the front desk for assistance, we were told that security would be right up to handle the situation, yet the ruckus continued for hours, until we finally lost faith in our ability to find uninterrupted sleep and left the Showboat. On a positive note, the room was generally clean, but run-down. The small coffee pot and refrigerator served their purposes. Staff could have been friendlier, but they weren’t terrible. Bottom line: I won’t stay here again, but if you just need a cheap bed to sleep in, this place will probably work for you.

I visited the Showboat last time I was in Atlantic City. It was a pretty good experience for the few hours I was there. I usually stay at Resorts since I have been a member there for so long and they give me free rooms for my loyalty. I would like to try to stay overnight at the Showboat to give a more complete review of the room, amenities and restaurants. If and when I do I'll give a more detailed review.

The show boat needs to do better. I know AC has gone through rough times the past 20 years there is still no excuse for things not to be done. If you are not going to run the hotel properly then maybe sell it to one of the TWO hotels on either side of you. For $170 on Saturday night I expect certain things just like a $59 Saturday room. This place is smacked in the middle of the hard Rock and oceans. There is no reason why the showboat can't come up a bit. For starters try putting a fitted sheet on the mattress and not a regular one. The list of things that this place would have to do is to long to list here. Look, if you need a place to stay for a night or two guess you could. Would have been better off spending the extra money and stayed at The Hard Rock or Oceans.

Average place to stay. Clean, comfortable, and gets the job done. Little weird smelling though, probably from the years of smoking they tried to clean out. Also, they still don't have their casino license since the renovation, so it's eerily dead on the casino floor. However, it is directly connected to the Hard Rock Casino, so it really doesn't matter.

One star is not even good enough for this hotel. I have never been so happy to leave a hotel to come home before in my life. I would rather go to a motel then to this so called hotel. Yes the rooms are nice but when I called room service, guest service, reservations no one would answer the phone. Then they have the nerve to come knocking on the door disturbing me at 1130 asking us to check out or reserve the room another night. They did this up and down the hall banging on doors while people are still relaxing. Check out was not until 12. Online it says they have an indoor and outdoor pool. Well guess what it's a lie they don't even have a casino anymore. I specifically booked a hotel with an indoor pool because I have kids and wanted to make sure they could swim inside since the weather was going to be bad. But, I guess the indoor pool is hidden for their employees who get better parking then their guests. When I made the reservation for Sunday night I was told the total was $177 okay cool awesome that's a good price. But when I get their I was told to pay $277. The extra $100 was for a just in case thing if any damages we're to accure. Whelp I was going to leave but at that point i would still be charged for the cancellation. I was told the 100 would be refunded after my stay. Come to find out it will take 5 to 7 days to get the money back. They are quick to take your money and lie. The showboat does not care. I did not do any damages so I would expect my money back with in about 2 days. They should mention the $100 security deposit before you book and print out your confirmation. I stayed in AC plenty of times with my family and we look forward to going down. I have never and I mean never had a problem. The airshow is coming up next month and I highly suggest to everyone do not stay at the showboat!

We stayed at Showboat Atlantic City this past weekend. The room was nice.....king bed (very comfortable), sofa, large bathroom with double sinks. It was very clean. Was not worth the price though.....$400 for a Saturday night....especially considering it is not a casino any longer!! Unfortunately the air conditioning in the room would not stay cool......it was 71 degrees when we got in the room at 4pm and although we set the thermostat to 65 degrees, it was 74 degrees when we returned at midnight. Not a comfortable sleep. Although the front desk would have moved us to another room, we were too tired to pack everything up and move, so we stuck it out. The property was family friendly....lots to do for the kids, but not much for adults. You definitely have to go to another property for adult fun! Luckily it is between 2 new casino/hotels.

Renovations are badly needed. Carpet is old and dirty, the old casino floor is just a large empty space. Multiple closed restaurants are still taking up space. Showboat is sandwiched between two newly renovated nice casinos that just reopened. A little investment could go a long way here. Location is great if you want to check out the new casinos.

I was visiting the boardwalk and visited the Showboat because I heard there is a pinball arcade. It was Independence Day so by the time I showed up it was already closed (closed at 6pm). From what I could see, there were some interesting pinball machines and even a Pacman machine. You pay after you play, based on how many hours you've been there rather than per game you've played. From what I could tell, it would have been fun.

Rooms were super clean and modern. Big bathrooms, deep tub. The staff was the best part of our stay. The super friendly front desk staff that allowed us to check into two rooms early at no cost, the housekeeping staff that cleaned our rooms even though we forgot to take off the "Do not disturb" sign and they were done with our floor, and the valet who went above and beyond at both check in and check out all made our stay more pleasant and memorable. We didn't mind that this was a casino free hotel as we had kids with us, and other casinos were right out the door. Gorgeous beach too! Highly recommend.

I stayed here for my birthday weekend. The people were pleasant & friendly. There was an event they were hosting. The outlets in the room were a bit wonky & should be checked into. As nice & pretty as the room is the pillows were not that comfortable. The front desk clerk was nice but she seemed confused when I asked her about the self parking and directed me to speak to a valet. Which I did & he he guided us from there. Other than that I had a nice time. 😁🤘

The trip was a disaster. There was absolutely nothing going on at the hotel. The hotel is isolated from all the event going on nearby. The room was clean and comfortable though. But still there was absolutely nothing to for the four days I spent here.

I booked this room before I remember Showboat wasn't a casino anymore. The room had a dirty smell. At least one of the chairs had definitely been peed on in its life. I saw a booger on the window sill. They didn't provide me with a bar of soap, so I had to wash my hands with shower gel. The hotel has a few restaurants listed, but I don't know where they keep them, half of it is abandoned. There was one open, a burger place that looked like they had trouble handling the few tables they had occupied, no one greeted me or offered to sit me, so I left. Food didn't look that good. Overall, I wish I would have just stayed at a motel closer to a real casino. It would have been less of a let-down. Showboat is a waste of your money.

I want to give this place 5 stars because the staff was awesome BUT I cant. The entire place smelled like smoke even though it was a smoke free building. The place is dated as hell. The price was WAYYYY to expensive for how old and dirty it was. My room was super clean I will say that BUT it was dated as hell and I do not think the veneration in the entire building worked correctly.. I will not be back to this place because I feel that it is just overpriced for the condition of the hotel. Either clean it and fix it or just closer it.

Atlantic City has been transitioning back to a fun, hip city and the Showboat is riding full steam ahead. New Orleans theme makes you want to throw beads off the balcony (but don’t). Every week there is a fun event and Management is very friendly. While there is no casino, there’s glow in the dark mini golf and a bar on the boardwalk. They are under refurbishment but a great deal for a fun hotel ON THE BEACH!

Stayed at this hotel for the first time for my birthday weekend since the price was much lower than other hotels in AC, plus I liked the fact that it was on the boardwalk and was easy to get to. Parking is $12 a day which is higher than a lot of the casinos, but the lot you park in is close to the hotel and you don’t have the hassle of being in a large garage. Check in was easy. Our guest agent was not very welcoming, did not smile and was not very helpful in answering our questions. I tried to call the front desk a few times and no one ever picked up the phone. The room in the bourbon tower I had was very clean and spacious. The bed and fuenite looked new and the bathroom was quite large. I loved the two sinks and how big the room was too. The view of the pier and boardwalk is amazing! The bed was comfy and the hotel is very quiet so you can really relax. Not a lot of noise of people coming and going since they don’t have a casino. All in all our stay was nice. My only problem was the front desk staff not answering the phone and the fact that when i checked in no one offered me a luggage cart. I had a few items and it would have helped since the walk is a bit far to the elevators.

The old casino, now a convention center. Stunning architecture, a true throwback to the old casino days. The staff was incredibly friendly. They do not offer free breakfast like most hotels do. Instead they offer a couple in house resteraunts. Over all the stay is well worth it.
