Wasn't impressed with the food, service or the ambiance.
Steak was inedible, veggies raw. Drinks were inconsistent from one to the other... and they charged an 18% gratuity for a table of 7, when the industry standard is 10 people. Sushi was hit or miss... some of it was quite good while others had that distinct made-yesterday quality.
I'm not terribly picky about beef as long as it's tender, but the charred greasy bits of psuedo beef would have never left the kitchen at Mr An's.
Being a regular at Mr An's... I was perplexed at this entire debacle... when I was informed that Mr An himself is no longer affiliated with the place. Oh.
Which, had I known... I probably wouldn't have driven 45 minutes to check them out.
We have had several great dinners here! Our entrees have always been delicious: fresh, flavorful and properly prepared. The hot and sour soup is the best we've had in Tucson. The potstickers are enjoyable and inexpensive. This place is always near the top of our list for dinner out.
Ume, the oriental restaurant in the Casino del Sol is not very good. If you are in to bland, tasteless Chinese, then give it a try. Service was OK and prices were reasonable. But I would not go back. How hard is to make decent Chinese food?
