The best dinning food in Ventura, great French onion soup and potato-leek also, big portions of fish and chips, big wine, liquor menu'. Sports bar area along with cozy private areas to sit in. Have never had a bad meal or service in the three years I and my family and friends frequently eat there.

Great food and excellent service, it's even a close walk to the beach. Great beer selection as well. Definitely worth a visit for any age group.

Love this place, completely authentic feel and amazing authentic food! At night it converts into more of a pub then a restaurant, mostly on weekends. Located right in the heart of downtown Ventura. The only downfall is that it’s very small for how crowded it gets.

Great service, stopped in for a quick drink. Waitress was friendly and attentive. We enjoy Irish pubs and this one was great as we could hold conversation without yelling to each other over loud music yet still hear each other and the music in the background.

Classic Irish pub feel. Great food. Beautiful interior. Local favorite. Bangers and mash with a pint of Harp is what I do. Festive song and dance on St. Patrick's Day. In the heart of Ventura. Walking distance to a lot of night life.

Hard to pin down. Sometimes I go and it feels like a cool lively college bar and other times it kicks that up 10 notches to Bro Central where people are rude, loud, and it's crowded. At any rate, one of the main bars in Ventura, worth a look

Great traditional Irish food. Not the typical bar joint knock offs. Live music the first and third Sunday afternoon each month.

It's as traditional an Irish pub as you'll find. Brews and spirits are consistent with pub fare. You're not going here to sample a 100 different beers and ales. Guinness is always "fresh" and the taps are always clean. Buffalo chicken fingers are one of my personal favorites. The brews and spirits are what you would expect in any Irish pub.

My friend and I nicely dressed visiting from out of town went there Saturday May 29th 2015, the place was busy but we did find a table. After we got our drinks, mine was unstably placed on their coaster and when I went to pick it up being that the glass was sticking to coaster and table it went all over the place. I had to get paper towels from the bathroom to clean it up since I couldn't get anyone's attention to help us. When my buddy got done with his drink we went up front to get our bill and pay then the cocktail server finally saw us and rushed up to us as if we were not going to pay. She told us to go back to our table and would get us a ticket so then we waited for that and then went back to the front to pay again. Here she comes rushing up to us again staring at our every move to make sure we were paying. REALLY? I have money and I am not a thief. All I wanted was a nice drink and good service. I felt like I was not welcomed there, very strange place and not friendly.

Fish and chips where OK. Good portions. Next time I will go with the corned beef sandwich. That looked really good! The waitress and greeter where both very nice. Beer was cold.

Dargan’s, you my friends, are a solid pub-grub joint with cold beer and solid service. I’m pretty sure there’s not much more you can ask for in an Irish-styled pub. On a quiet Sunday, we got: Dargan’s Classic Fries, Steak & Guinness Pie and Corned Beef & Cabbage. Dargan’s Classic Fries: I mean, fries covered in cheese and bacon with ranch to dip. Srsly. What’s not to love? Steak & Guinness Pie: I will not hold it against them that it was the temperature of the sun when they served it to me. That just means it was fresh from the oven. In fact, I enjoyed that. When you peel back the flaky top and let it cool off, you get a chance to drink a beer. By the time you’ve ordered your second, you’re good to go. Tender steak, good gravy, nice potatoes -- all in all, a solid little pie. Corned Beef & Cabbage: At an Irish pad, you can’t not get corned beef and this won’t let you down. Hopefully, you’re not coming here looking for fine dining -- because if you are, then this will let you down. However, if you’re looking for exactly that perfect St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage that you make at home, that’s exactly what you’ll get here. Oh, and the cabbage? It wasn’t overcooked and wilty! High fives guys. The service was pleasant and attentive -- my beer was always full and we never felt a lack of attention. Overall, a pleasant pub grub meal.

My wife and I go to Dargan's alot. The Potato Leek Soup is awesome. Their corned beef dishes are really good, too and I don't really like corned beef. Dargan's is one of our favorite places to go in Ventura.
