Hawk's Tavern

Great establishment. Not only are there two floors one floor for non-smoking another floor for smoking there are also multiple restaurants on the second floor. There is also a Kids Quest section so young children can go and play various types of arcade games and whatnot. Also all through the casino floor there are various different soda machines that you can go to for complimentary beverages. I would personally recommend bringing in your own refillable cup as that's what I do. They do provide cups there for your beverages but I enjoy a refillable cup as it's substantially larger and lasts me longer. There is also a little cafe on the smoking floor where you can get cheese burgers hot dogs and that sort of thing.

I love coming here to gamble, eat and play. My whole family loves this place! My husband and I come for the free slot tournament they hold every day. Plus we enjoy eating here at the buffet with the kids on weekends or nights we don't feel like cooking. My kids love to spend and hour in the kids quest day care and the whole family loves to play video games in the arcade before we leave. It's always a super fun time!

This is the closest casino to where I live so I find myself here more often than many others. I typically only play poker and they have a quaint little room but it gets the job done. I like that most mornings they have a $40 tournament which offers a $400 guaranteed first place prize, many times I've seen it in the $6-800 range for first place though so it's a good value for a tournament. During the weekend hours there is typically 2 or 3 $1-3 games going and others as well. Overall a good option in this area.

We came here to check out the arcade for the first time in April 2018. Prior to that, we've only been to the casino twice for the buffet. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the arcade area & that they offer birthday parties & hourly daycare. We just can't get over the smoky smell while in the elevator and casino floor areas. There's plenty of parking. We wish there were more non-smoking areas.

The facility is very nice, and the buffet was excellent. We went there for a Sunday brunch celebrating a birthday. Nice because it was easy for all to eat something they loved and get their food quickly. Like all casinos, the slot machine area (and there were LOTS of those) are challenging for those sensitive to smoke.

Hawk's Tavern

I don't gamble; ... my wife does. So I'm usually just a tag along. My wife's happiness is important to me. I must say Red Hawk is set up very nicely, with beautiful artwork and picturesque views. Though I am disappointed in the lack of change in displayed artwork. Escalators and an elevator take you down one level to a waitress style restaurant, a buffet, bar (with convenience items), and a non-smoking slot machine section. I LOVE THEIR FRENCH FRIES. If you go down and get off the escalator to the right, you can walk to the hostess station and order food to go. Ask for an order of French Fries to go. They aren't greasy at all. Mmmmm !!! For me, the Fries are the highlight of my visit, a tradition. February 2018 and before: The atmosphere at Red Hawk was NOT centered on getting every buck from you. You still lost everything on slots, like all casinos. But you could play a while just for the enjoyment factor. May 2018: Red Hawk changed their slots payouts. You won't play long before being wiped out. We've gone several times, but my wife can't play at all before losing her game money. I hate seeing her disappointing expression, when she came to have fun. Thunder Valley Casino as another example of money hungry. Everything at Thunder Valley is designed not for entertainment, but to take money from you. The elevated fast food prices, the lack of style ... wife puts money in slots and can't even play for a little while. The building from a distance looks like a mobile home and underpinning; no style at all, no artistic effort, one purpose to give back as little as possible. On the other side is Red Hawk Casino. Beautiful, feeding the emotional soul. Connected to nature, balancing harmony, my wife used to play for hours, activities are always going on, the cost of food to stay is reasonable ... For someone that does not gamble, I used to enjoy Red Hawk casino. Now to bring happiness to my wife, I am travelling to other casinos. So far, Cash Creek and a casino up in Grass Valley are better at bringing her smiles. Guidepost.us

Ok first thing first I love the parking structure. It’s so convenient because it takes you like two minutes to get to the elevator to get you the casino so like around 5 minuets max. Second the staff there and I mean everyone (security included) is super polite and they are very customer friendly. I enjoy how they have self service for for soda, water and coffee. That was super clutch to me. The only thing I wish they had was more food variety even if it’s fast food. The restaurant there was half a star at most but we came to play which is first priority.

Clean casino,if you're looking to win or really even play on your money for a bit this is not the casino for you. Staff is so so, won't go out of their way to help or solve any issues you have. Have never received a response from email sent. They do offer a beverage bar and have a very nice and tasty buffet. On occasion they offer live band's which are good. The free gifts are not anything to get excited about, and if you missed something you did happen to like, don't worry they'll offer it again as they never change the products they give away, same thing month after month.

Hawk's Tavern

This Casino is enormously popular for the area. It has an excellent selection of slot machines, and it is very convenient to Highway 50 with its own exit and plenty of parking; however, it does not have a resort feeling like can be found for those who are not too lazy to drive to Lake Tahoe. I also find the amount of smoke in this place to be bothersome, and while there is a small smoke-free casino downstairs, it has a poor selection of games, and you have to walk through all the smoke upstairs to reach it down the escalator. The physical casino is well maintained, but the patrons who frequent this place provide less than a high-class atmosphere. As far as food is concerned, it has a variety ranging from Excellent to mediocre. Pearl Asian Cuisine (Chinese Food that is upstairs in the back corner) is Excellent. Henry's Steak House (downstairs) is Expensive and Excellent. The Waterfall buffet (downstairs) is O.K. It has a good variety of food, but none that is great quality. I find most casino buffets to be better. Koto (downstairs) has a menu with a great variety, and it is the only place open late at night; however, I find it to be only mediocre. The burger place upstairs is also just mediocre, and I am sad that it replaced a burger place that was really good! A hidden gem is the food at the high-limit bar. This is a one-chef show with a limited menu and limited seating, but I find the food to be very good for the price.
