The eye in the sky sees it all!! Security staff are on it and the casino operates with a high degree of integrity. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. The food is reasonably priced and very good. I have to recommend against bringing kids as this is not a family friendly place.

Reserved a King room, upon check in we were told they were out and they only had two queens. If we wanted two queens, that's what we would have reserved. They were not apologetic at all. The room was nice but not very clean, dust on everything and the air vents looked like they had not been cleaned since it opened. The a/c also did not work in our room. I would not recommend the hotel or the Fireside Restaurant, casino was nice though.

My second time here, just love it! The spa suite is fantastic, great views. Morning coffee by the fireplace was cozy and romantic. The staff here is top notch. Had my first massage in my life here, they were great and I felt wonderful afterwards. Our host Derrick took very good care of us, Thank You! We will be back again and again.

Customer service was great! Rooms were nice! Food was good. I give five stars for those things. BUT... Housekeeping needs to do better, better cleaning and a little pride. Tub was dirty, needed vacuumed, and dusted bad! But, overall, was amazing. Will be back!

We always go to this same buffet. Our reasoning is they have the best variety of food and they have they best reviews around. The night we went the food was so fresh and delicious! There were so many different dessert options. Our waiter was nice, quick and brought us a pitcher of tea as soon as we asked. He was a great server.

Great hotel but you can tell the rooms have been used. My husband and I got a spa sweet with a jetted tub. The tub's attachment did not work, the carpet is coming up in one spot and the foot board is warn. These are only cosmetic things so we had a great time anyways

Just about the only kids friendly casino resort in Colorado, but just barely. Blackjack tables have higher denominations to keep cheaper players out. Rules are not the most liberal, but acceptable for strategy playing. Staff are professional and restaurants have good service. Rooms are nice, and so is the exercise room. It's a great place for gaming or just to relax. UPDATE: no longer allow children into the buffet. Could of made an alternative entrance, but it appears they are discouraging family clienteles.

My family of six (kids and adults) would come here several times a year. Main reason you ask? The all you can eat crab legs! The prime rib was great as well. Over the past couple of years, we've noticed a decline in the quality of food but again, the crab legs kept us coming back. Our 10 year old (who was 4 at the time) learned how to crack open crab legs here. Many great memories. We went there tonight, not thinking to look at the website (because after coming so often, why would I). We were turned away because of our kids. All patrons now must be 21 and over. Why? They had no explanation. Just a rude man who was on a power trip. Ameristar has lost our business for good.

It is a fancy hotel, and the employees are nice and the room is big with a comfortable bed. But the garden bath looks to have not been scrubbed for a while as there is grime all over it. Also, I understand that room service is expensive, but they tack on a service fee on top of the room service prices, plus add the tip in without telling you either of the fees were being added. I wish they hadn't because I was going to tip the guy more than the 18% that they added on. The buffet is as much as room service, but its quality is below par too. I was expecting a luxury experience, but really think I just paid for a giant dirty tub. Disappointing.

I walked through this casino when driving by. I had to see it I had no idea that there was casinos in Colorado. It was absolutely amazing. I was able to talk to several people that worked here and they were all super nice and helpful. Definitely thinking of planning a trip or I can come and stay at this hotel.

Ameristar was a wonderful place to stay the night. The gambling was great as was the food and drinks. The only thing that could have made it better was if the bar had been open at the pool. I'll definitely be back for more relaxation and fun!

We enjoyed our stay at the Ameristar Casino in Black Hawk, Co. When we first arrived we pulled in the Valet area. Needed a cart for our luggage. Valet called for Bell office, after waiting a few minutes, we finally gave up and carried our own luggage in. You have a long walk to the Hotel lobby. There at the Hotel lobby, staff was very friendly. Our room was awesome with a beautiful view. The one thing that I did find was the coffee pot was not cleaned. Still had the used coffee filter in it, and the pot was dirty. The Buffet was just unbelievable, staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was just as awesome. They could loosen the machine's. Put a hundred in a penny machine and expect to get a bonus round at least once is not too much to ask, I don't think. They would of received 5 stars if it wasn't for the coffee pot, and the bell hop wait when we first arrived. (And the tight machines)

We had a horrible experience. We had a room reserved for over a week and when we checked in we were told there wasn't a room available and or cleaned and that it would be a little bit of a wait. We waited over 2 hours and still no room available. We reserved a room because we wanted to utilize the hot tub so we asked for access to it just to be told it was under maintenance. We spoke with a Manager about the issue and we asked for a full refund and the manager made it right by giving me a discounted rate for a future reservation and apologized sincerely. It was definitely a frustrating experience for us but I know the circumstances leading to what happened and it was out of the control of the manager and employees at the front desk. I would hope that upper management sees this review and shapes up housekeeping. Apparently they are the ones who were unable to meet demands of the reservations that night and it's not fair to us patrons who travel and expect so much more from Ameristar. We had no expectation to sleep in our vehicle that night because Ameristar couldn't accommodate and other hotels were too booked, possibly because of Ameristar having to turn away 30+ patrons for their housekeeping discrepancy.

Fun place to hang out. Clean, good atmosphere. Usually plenty of things to play even on busier nights. Drink service isn't bad but sometimes you'll wait a while before getting served.

Food quality has gone downhill and kids cannot eat at the buffet anymore. Slots are kind of tight. Rooms are nice as well as the pool and hot tub. I miss the outback jack slot machine. It was a lot of fun. Room wasn't ready by 4. Maybe once the new competition opens up, they will try harder....

Stayed here one night and lost $200. Had a good time anyway. The room was roomy and comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a decent smiling patio next to the Starbucks since you can't smoke inside. I played craps and the dealers were fun and nice. It's not Vegas but it will do in a pinch.

I only stay at the Ameristar up in Black Hawk. I gamble plenty, and I get a free room and buffets every month. That being said, the standard rooms are great, though if you are picky, the rooms could use some upkeep and could be cleaned better. I am still more than satisfied since the rooms are cheap and or free depending on your gambling. The room service is always quick and tasty. The prices are reasonable. The “fast food” outlet on the casino floor is tasty and convenient. The fireside restaurant is also a great option and priced OK. I have never been to The Timberline Grill, it seems quite expensive. As for the gambling, I don’t play slots much as they are very tight. The video poker is quite loose though. The table games are always fun with mostly hospitable dealers. Tip decently and you will be treated very well, though it’s obviously not required. All in all I love the Ameristar Black Hawk and will only stay and gamble here.
