The staff are professional, drink prices aren’t crazy, and even for the non-gambler, the boat is just pretty to see on the river. Now here’s the good, bad, and the ugly: Good: Nice selection of restaurants, both in and around the area of downtown Elgin - it’s a neat place with a lot of history and do yourself a favor to visit when it’s warmer to experience it. There are plenty of tables with competitive minimums for black jack and roulette. Bad: Being at Rivers versus Grand Victoria is night and day when it comes to the people gambling. If you’re depressed, don’t come here. If you’re with a beautiful woman, don’t come here. If you’re anyone who just needs to spend money to be around people, a normal bar would definitely be a better place. Ugly: Some of the people are very territorial on which machine, seat at a table, or even if you’re sitting next to them at a slot machine - all superstitions are on full blast. Very uncomfortable atmosphere for the party I had brought. Perhaps in the middle of winter, the Grand Victoria doesn’t have the same charm it may possess in the warmer times of the year.

The Casino area is well kept, clean, no smoking. It took 20 minutes to buy a coke at the bar. They need more bartenders. My only complaint is that it is near impossible to get into the slot areas in a wheelchair. I could only play machines that were on the ends of the aisles.

Had a great time here! Ate at Prime Burger House and it was fantastic! I order the veggie burger patty on the garlic Parmesan burger. Family at the table ordered the plain burger and Red Bull. Fries were FANTASTIC! Would recommend for a good bite to eat before heading into the casino. Prices are completely reasonable, the restaurant is super clean, modern atmosphere, and our waiter super nice. Worth checking out.

Buffet can use a big upgrade. Crab legs no taste, prime rib is tough And very thin salad bar offerings. Coke machine has no ice and out of many flavors on a Friday night at 8pm. They can do better for this money.

Company holiday party in one of the ball rooms. Good bar with a good top shelf. Food was good quality buffet. Staff was really good and managed very well. Casino itself was depressing. Looked like mostly people who couldn't afford to be there gambling with the rent money.

I loved the food here but this last visit left much to be desired. The food was not nearly as delicious as before and for what you're paying you expect better quality and at least warm food.

Small casino but they have a good selection of games and excellent restaurants. No hotel is a big drawback and the isles between the slots are way too tight. You can't get to lot of the slots because of the narrow isles. Parking is free but across the street. Forget about trying to get a drink on any promotion times and the waitresses are non existent.

Obviously casinos are here to take our money, but outside of that the staff here is friendly and accommodating. The casino, bathrooms, and restaurants are kept nice and clean as well. Only down side is they charge $2 for a bottle of water.

Not sure why there are so many negative comments..... the casino is clean and the staff is generally very friendly. Always able to find a video poker machine at the bar. Larry at the bar is a great guy, and so many people know him well. My wife and I have won several large jackpots on Ultimate X poker. The Buffet is very good and you get two free buffets each month with the players card. I am surprised that I don’t get more free cash play given the amounts I play.

Fun place to while away an afternoon. We had burgers in Prime, I thought the food was great but my company did not. I had the shredded bacon burger which will draw me back to the casino, just for that pleasure! The casino itself is compact, clean and not horribly crowded for a holiday weekend (Memorial day) Good times!

How is someone with past police experience and former security of this casino, “qualifications are not a best fit for the security position”? Next time Grand Victoria Human Resources Department, how about contacting an applicant directly to tell them NO instead of your automated indirect email! No wonder you never could keep a low turn-over how you treat people. Thank goodness you kept me from making a mistake.

Nice, clean and easy to get to. Plenty of games to choose from. Some areas are a little tight between the rows to move thru. Good selection of dining options. Prime Burger House is always delicious. Great burger selections at a decent price.

Very well kept (clean) The staff is very nice. There's always someone asking if you need a drink or anything else. I even had a machine break as I was cashing out. It took awhile to get my money back but they stuck with me the whole time.

Prime BurgerHouse is Outstanding!! Honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had! I have been coming here for the burgers for about 9 years. I always get the Kobe Beef burger with Bacon, and Steak Fries! A great meal, good staff. An A+.

Nice local casino, a bit cramped due to the amount of visitors but it was Saturday night. Had a good time and won some money. With both floors open, plenty of opportunity to play various games of your choosing.

I always enjoy going to Victoria's casino I have a great time there. I love going to eat there especially for the buffet lots to choose from ahead clean and delicious. I recommend going there enjoy yourself playing on the one cent slots machines and win some dough!
