I am only giving two stars because we got food when we were really hungry. The food is ordinary and you eat here because you have no choice. We wanted a good dine in experience since we were on vacation and didn't want to eat Subway or fast food. There were about 6-8 occupied tables and it didn't look like a rush hour. The service was horrible and pathetic to a degree where we had to remind the server several times to get me water and silverware. He served food and we didnt have silverware yet, can you imagine the agony when you are so hungry but you can't eat. Try not to eat here, save your money.
Food was good, and staff was great! He was attentive to our drinks and super friendly. The service provided to us was the only bright spot in the trip to the casino.
Food was delicious but the service blew just FYI if you want a refill good luck with that cause the servers there just love to talk to other staff than actually serve you.
Two just because the server(Jaime D.) was perfect and the chips are the best you can get out of a bag. Idk where they come from, but I love them. That all though..
8 dollars gets you a plate of two tiny enchiladas that are bland. Microwavable food quality. Bland rice and bland bean soup on the side.
Service 10/10
Food 2/10
Cleanliness 7/10
My son and I ate there last night. We both ordered enchiladas(different) and mine tasted a bit strange, so only ate a couple of bites. The tortillas were mushy and the chili type topping is what tasted bad. I felt a little queasy last night, but ok today. My son, however, ate about half of his (with the same topping) and has been sick all night into today. We won’t be going back!
Can't rate the food because I was never seated. We waited around forever for staff to greet us. Finally when someone did show up, they greeted the gentleman behind us and immediately seated him first. They both completely acted like we were not there. I do feel like we were discriminated against. My fiancé and I left and found somewhere else to eat that had a more pleasant staff. I will never eat at an El Fenix restaurant again.
D Magazine has given El Fenix so many amazing awards. The food did not live up to the hype. I personally think On The Border is better. Our waitress was really sweet though. The service was good.
