Small club with interesting old euro decor. Two definite rooms for dancing and some flex space for tables or what not. The flex spaces have a negative of getting both rooms sound mixing together in a terrible way. The bar is large but the staff still can't keep up with 4 bartenders and lots of bar backs. Parking is a nightmare. Small parking lot for valet but it fills quickly. Street parking is a nightmare as this club is surrounded by residential streets already filled with parked cars.
My car was almost stolen, thank God I came out fast from the club. Only to find this girl driving my car out of the parking lot. Be careful with parking your car and leaving your keys with the vallet parking. These guys don’t really pay attention your cars. They leave all the keys under the tires where they are easily accessible for anyone to steal.
The best old school reggae n hip hop club in Cali. The only improvement they could make is to have one more bartender in the front and back rooms, since there is no longer free entrance.
Nice happy hour. Decent $5 red wine.Classy environment and right there in the middle of everything. Stopped there before going to see one of those Jimmy Kimmie concerts right across the street and it was a decent prep for the night. Great place to meet friends at before game time.
This is the first bar I visited in LA. I r A lluvia like it! The music is great and the vibe as well... it's been a few months since I went there.. I'm gonna go back soon.
Medusa Lounge is always a great spot to hear old hip hop/r&B mixed with new school hip hop. They have two rooms with different vibes, so if hip hop isn't your forte the other room usually plays reggae. The music is what really makes this place. Its also a good place to have a drink and chill with your friends; they have small patio for smoking as well.
I recommend getting to medusa's early, so if the doors open at 9 pm be there before 10 pm. After 10 there is always a big line. you can easily wait 45 mins, sucha waste of time. They have two lines. One is an "express line" where you pay $10 or the regular line which is free but you have to wait because the express line always gets first dibs, not cool.
Parking: They do offer parking for a price or you can drive around the neighborhood to find a free spot. If you get there early you can get a free parking spot around the corner.
The line to get in is ridiculous... GET THERE EARLY! It's free, but I feel like they like to keep the line long to build the hype or something. If you don't like to wait in line, pay $10 to get in right away. The music is really fun on Hip Hop nights... There are 2 rooms and one usually has dancehall music which is super fun. The sound system is a little janky, but still a fun vibe.
The ambiance is cool, the decor is dark and has the feel of a medieval wine cellar. Lots of brick, booths, and statues everywhere.
