I have visited Harrah's Council Bluffs many times. The hotel is clean with new mattresses, carpeting, bedding, and furnishings in the past 3 years. The casino is actually on a boat at present, but will be on land in the hotel by June 2013, so all will be new. The staff here has been most courteous every time I have visited, my parents also visit weekly and stay often. The staff is always courteous and pleasant. No one has ever been rude to anyone in our family. The food at Harrah's and at Horseshoe is exceptional in all restaurants. The buffets have multiple food variety: American, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, etc. The steak house portions are so large, it is a challenge to eat all that is served, so we usually take food home. The cafes are open 24/7, and the food and staff is a great: pick-up and go or eat-in. The pastries and cakes are divine! You may win, or you may lose, but that is the nature of gambling, so if you lost, don't grumble about the property and the staff. They deserve better. This review is for the Harrah's Hotel Casino property, not for affiliated hotels they may use. We have stayed at the Country Inn which is not that great, we have also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which was wonderful as is the Hilton at the Horseshoe.
