Been going to Interstate Speedway for more than 45 years. A place you can call home. I seen faces that I hadn't seen in 30 years still going to the Track. Always a great experience

Easter buffet 2018, very poor service and food. Omelet station server, wore gloves and handeled the cooked omelete several times after cooking with gloved hands, removing and rearranging the toppings. Who knows where the gloves had been. Steak looked good but to tough to chew. Fish was flavorful, but cold. Soup warm not hot. Very disappointed. Couldn't find any one to share the above comments with. They have the opportunity to have a positive dinning experience, but are failing. Three adult buffet brunch were $40, a little much for poor service and food.

Food not that great, for such an upscale dinner, they only offer tiny packages of wet wipes. I would expect hot towels after dinner. As far as the casino, there's really nothing to play that uses skill, it's mostly virtual video games, no luck, no skill level, the card tables are set for 6 players plus dealer, hous mostly wins at all games, its all very computerized.

Worst coffee in a gaming house ever. Comps overall are weak. They've cut out the "Birthday" gifts once offered for example and opted for small appliances on selected days. A clear push to attract the heavy hitters on the penny slots arriving by bus from the local Shady Acres Rest Home. This lowers the image of the joint and creates major lines at the customer service desk. Hard Rock will need to work hard elevating the experience for gamblers willing to drop several thousand a visit without offending 10 dollar visitors who will expect a toaster or bath towel for the Honor of their presence. Many of the staff are wonderful people however some have turned into Civil Servants which proves Govt should never be involved in gaming. Interesting times ahead for this place. Good Luck Hard Rock. Good Riddance Provincial Adjudicators of fun. On a positive note the seafood buffet was awesome. Great Snow Crab legs. I commend the staff who worked their tails off refilling them. The restaurant must lose their shirts on this item given the cost and the clear over consumption of some who went 5-6 times to refill their plates. People try the other fantastic items here and stop hovering over the crab like homeless folk. For the price the foods great. The restaurant staff are awesome, patient and hard working. My wife and I ate for free so I tipped 30 dollars. The table behind me of 6 who ate nothing but plate after plate after plate of crab left 5 dollars when they walked out. I was disgusted beyond words. The people NOT the restaurant nor the food nor the staff ruined my dining experience that particular evening. My hats off to these restaurant workers because I'd be fired in 15 minutes if I had to watch this despicable display of gluttony and lack of manners every GD day.

Golden Nugget- Lake Charles

Went for the breakfast buffet, but arrived late and had to do lunch instead. They had just reopened for lunch, so the food was all extremely fresh. Decent choices to try a bit of everything in each food "category" such as Italian, Asian, American, etc. Waiter was friendly and helpful which was very much appreciated. Sometimes service for buffets is lacking in hospitality... Music overhead in the restaurant was unusually loud; enough to cause my husband and I to both get a splitting headache just after being seated. I'm assuming that they keep the volume at a higher range since there is usually a packed house and a large seating area. A high number of people tend to make a great deal of noise in general. Unfortunately, it affected our appetites, so we really didn't try to many different things that we normally would have. We were miserable and couldn't focus on the food. Waiter went above and beyond by finding a manager, who had to call 3 different departments just to have the volume lowered, but eventually it was tolerable. Everything was tasty and we had no complaints about the food options. However, we found the desserts were really lacking! Not one dessert that we tried (and we tried A LOT of them) had the correct consistency OR flavor that a "fancy" or "higher than average" restaurant COULD be capable of. I'm a sweet tooth person, so my heart was crushed by this. No matter what we tasted off of the dessert bar, we couldn't get past a second bite of anything. I've had pre-made and boxed options, that most would consider "below par," that would out shine and out flavor anything available that day. I hope it was just a random disappointment, but we don't go there often enough to compare it. Overall, food selection was small, but good for each type. Waiter and staff were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was adjusted for comfort. Only negative was the extremely disappointing desserts. It's up to you to try it for your own opinions! Good luck and hope it's great for you...
