I was a student at Samford University 89-92. We loved being able to have this venue as something to do on slow weekends (hard to compete against the Iron bowl. The horses (thoroughbreds) were beatiful. I think if it comes back they should also have a 1/4 mile track to bring back the real southern racing with quarter horses. The two would not have to compete... if races were done on different weekends... who knows- if it catches on; they could add on another straight quarter mile field with the new synthetic surface reducing injuries. Lets get on board to bring horse racing back to B'ham!
