A historic muti-million dollar renovation for a new home for quarter horse racing? Although the idea seems interesting and the track enticing, is the economically feasible? Most horse racing fans realize that large crowds and big purses are struggling to flock to thoroughbreds. Million dollar guarantees have been paid to Big Brown, Rachael Alexandra, and crowd favorites just to show. But quarter horses typically attract a niche crowd or locals and, unless its a big race, pay anemic purses. Wouldnt Hialeah be better off grabbing a 4-6 week card like Keeneleand or Saratoga in attempt to show a boutique charm to the elite? Get on the South Florida Thoroughbred Circuit before its too late!
