Recently partner and I went and had an amazing turkey roast with gorgeous roasted parsip, pan browned onions with fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside goose fat roasted potatoes. Simply put, I was amazed at how wonderful everything tasted together and this is from a regular fitzy customer. They have undergone extensive redecorating and theming renovations, committing fully to a roadhouse/steakhouse theme. Although the decor looked great, the roadhouse effect of cancelling out table service and being made to queue and order for meals, tends to make the diner feel like the cattle lining up to be fed. For some diners they may prefer paying upfront and ordering drinks from the bar the same way. I find the only time I appreciate that is when I am full and a little bit sleepy and it's time to go. I'm impressed with the great kitchen hours as well - we went at a lazy 2.35pm on a Sunday afternoon and the meals were just as fresh and feastly, although when it is quiet we were better served going straight up to the queue, rather than wait any longer near the abandoned attendant desk with sign "Please wait here to be seated." I was very impressed when after finding out we had been waiting at this station for a little over 4 mins with no sign of recognition, the manager waved us over and gave us complimentary drinks. They are really, really trying to get the customer service and efficacy levels just right, and each time we visit I feel it's getting better/more comfortable with it's new genre change.
