Worst Intercontinental I have stayed in my whole life. Very dated, smelly and rather dirty, e.g. mold in the bathroom, unclean cups at the breakfast buffet. Apart from that avoid this place if you wanna have a good night sleep. Also, very noisy; hotel management doesn't care about guests need to have a quiet night sleep but prefers to host noisy events on the terrace with loud music until late night. Avoid if you are a business traveler.

One of my favorite Cairo hotels. In heart of downtown Cairo, just in front of the legendary Nile river. I love food quality and restaurants there.

Don't book their brunch at their night and day restaurant. The place is too loud for the band and too clustered. People book all the nice table and never show up. And the food is certainly good looking or appetizing that I didn't even bother taking photos.

The Sushi bar at the Semiramis is very good. Chef Raoul (known by frequent Egypt travellers) is still at his best. My favourite: the duck sushi!

An old new place. What really you will admire here is the site of the hotel and view of the rooms. Its furniture and rooms are old fashioned but neat and clean. The location is very nice. You are in the middle of everything. Ancient cairo is at a walking distance and new cairo is very near to drive. The view is marvelous in the morning and at night. What was really annoying are two things, the bathroom is not well equipped and without a water flush (important for eastern guests). The other thing is that the staff are not helpful at all especially at the restaurant. The latter was a very bad experience for me. It is not what you expect in a"five" stars hotel. May be you can try the wide variety of restaurants around the hotel but not the one inside.

Hotel was excellent apart from rooms which are showing some age. Good food; staff were good. Missed the last star mainly due to room condition. Fine details missed.

I have reserved a non-smoker room but I was given a smoker room. When I requested a room change, reception said that the hotel doesn't have a one bed non-smoker room. As a result, I ended up with two small beds. In addition, the installation between rooms and the outside is terrible. You can hear everything. So far in my stay I didn't see how does this hotel qualified to be a 5-star hotel.

Pros: • The staff is very friendly and the concierge went above and beyond to accommodate us - simply fantastic! • The breakfast and the Thai restaurant are both quite good. Cons: • The hotel is old, and the rooms show their age. The bed is clean, but there are stains on the carpet and some mold in the bathroom. • The lobby, the restaurants, and some rooms allow smoking. This might bother tourists, particularly Americans, but IMO it’s a situation where you just have to accept the local culture.

Absolutely lovely hotel. Rustic in its design and luxury, excellent staff, service, and the restaurants are impeccable. They also have lovely art displays every so often. Parking can be a bit uncomfortable, and the valet service can get a little messy. Otherwise, I always have flawless experiences here.
