To start, the salad bar was full of fresh vegetables and an incredible assortment of smoked fish and seafood salads. I wouldn't put this salad bar on par with Fogo de Chao or Texas de Brazil, but it was still very impressive. The bar also featured fresh cheese, cocktail shrimp, sushi (contain yourself – this sushi was gross), and fresh bread. I started my meal with a salad full of seafood and also tried the Caribbean Seafood Stew, which was good. For some reason, I felt like speed would be essential in this buffet bonanza and I wasted no time devouring my first two plates. Then, I moved on to the main event – the grilling station. The grilling station was one of the most beautiful sites these eyes have ever seen at a restaurant. There was a chef standing there with bowls full of fresh fish, lobster, crab legs, shrimp, and scallops, and he was grilling all of them to order. So yes, it was all you can eat lobster…and mahi-mahi…and wahoo…and grouper…and shrimp…and crab legs…and scallops. Heavenly. As I stood waiting for my grilled cornucopia, I offered up a prayer of, “God, please have one of these in heaven.” I think you could have it prepared however you wanted but I went with the traditional way of it being covered in butter and garlic. The shrimp and scallops were delicious but my favorite was the crab legs. The combination of them being grilled, cooked in butter, and already cut in half was perfect. The crabmeat was easy to get to and it marinated in the juices of the butter as you pulled it out of the shell. I know. Stop drooling on your keyboard. I honestly lost track of how many visits I made to the grilling station. There was another line of hot foods that had already been prepared, but I treated that as the snack area where you could sample foods while waiting for the seafood on the grill. For dessert, Aquarius offers a selection of cakes, truffles, puddings and fruit. I tried all the desserts and was only impressed with the chocolate mousse, but it didn't matter. That just meant more room for crab legs! The price for the buffet is $40 per person. As I always say with buffets, the value of the meal is about what you make of it. If the quality is good and you're able to eat a lot, then it's worth the price.
