I don't usually feel compelled to write reviews about anything, but this motel was really wonderful. My friends and I were just passing through and needed a place to stay and the three of us got a two-bed room for $60 (with AAA). It was $10 more to stay in one of the newly remodeled rooms so we went for an old one. I'm glad we did because the furniture was really beautiful, not like usual motel furniture, it seemed hand-picked to the room. It smelled really normal (which is amazing for anyone who stays in cheap motels on a regular basis). The first thing we did was check for bedbugs, as you do, and we discovered the cleanest mattresses we have ever seen at a motel. Very clean all around. The young woman at the front desk was also a really lovely person, very kind and helpful. If I'm ever in Hawthorne, NV again, I will definitely stay here.
