Overview

Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas debuted in 2010 as a new addition to the Oasis Class. Allure is 50 millimeters longer than her sister ship Oasis of the Seas, though both were built to the same specifications. It underwent enhancements in May 2015 and is expected to be amped again soon. With that being said, this ship does not fall short of providing an incredible onboard experience! The 18-deck ship is one of the most awarded and guests love the entertainment, dining, and activities this ship offers.

The guest capacity is 5,492, but there are plenty of spaces for all these people to hang out. There are multiple bars and lounges as well as 7 neighborhoods including Oasis Class favorites like Central Park and The Boardwalk. With 25 dining options, you are sure to find something to satisfy any craving you have.

What about activities? There are 4 pools and 10 whirlpools to choose from, 2 rock climbing walls, an ice-skating rink, a zip line, 2 surf simulators, a basketball court, a spa, a fitness center, and our favorite- the CASINO.

Allure of the Seas

Great ship!
Love the layout, and all the different areas. Main dining room assignment is a mess on night one and two. So many problems we gave up and ate in buffet every nite! No regrets excellent food, great service. Casino nice size alot of variety of games. Table games very pricey. Scary if newbies. Hubby hit jackpot day 3. Seems like starting to loosen up a little post covid.

Allure of the Seas

Great entertainment, food going downhill, very smoky casino!!
The casino was horribly smoky even in the half that was non-smoke. Everyone was complaining about it. I have gambled over 30 years and taken about 30 cruises and never have I've been in such a smoky casino. They did not have individual ashtrays and instead everybody was Using giant ashtrays that filled up with ashes, I don't know if that was part of the problem, but it was truly horrible. Entertainment was excellent ranging from Broadway show Mama Mia, To a comedy club, to ice show, To great outdoor Cirque du Soleil type of show with high diving and trampoline work. Also they had jazz and a Latin band every night and other performers, and an excellent parade down the center of the promenade. Lots for kids to do with the kid program. Unfortunately ship was quite crowded with about 5800 guests, And seemed somehow a lot more crowded than when I was on the even bigger symphony of the seas. The elevators were constantly full, but everybody was nice and helpful letting in people who are handicapped including me and my mobility scooter. Unfortunately food quality and variety has gone down, especially in buffet. Ice cream is no longer served in the buffet, the dessert selection was pitiful for lunch and dinner there, variety very poor, lack of omelette station in the buffet during breakfast, poor lunch selections. On port days only buffet open for lunch if you stayed onboard -- unsatisfactory. Main dining room food was much better, but the new menu changes not so good in my opinion because of less variety. Also they have changed some of the recipes and some items that were classic are gone, such as delicious Apple tart we ate in June on Symphony is now a smaller apple cobbler (good but not great). Some items seem to be smaller in portion too, for example Shrimp cocktail with smaller shrimp. We had a bad meal in specialty restaurant chops, with food over cooked and little taste. Four people, four bad entrees. Giovannis Italian excellent, 150 restaurant very good. If they cut the buffet anymore they might as well not have it.... Service was excellent. Our room steward, Joel, on 12th floor was the happiest man I've ever met or the worlds greatest actor! He was terrific. Every crew member was so hard working and friendly. Overall I preferred the symphony of the seas to the allure, but Allure does leave from Galveston. The new cruise terminal was good, but there is a shortage of Lyft and Uber and taxi if you are staying in Galveston overnight. Get a hotel that will actually give you a shuttle to the port. Some require that you park your car there or you cannot use their shuttle (for example Holiday Inn Galveston on the beach). It actually might be better to stay over in Houston the night before cruise and get your transportation from Royal Caribbean both ways to the port. That's what I would do next time.

Nice Ship
Really enjoyed the cruise - The ship was very nice. First time on Oasis class and a ship that big, but easy to get around. Staff was awesome and the food was fabulous! A nice variety of slot machines in the casino.

Allure of the Seas

Not enough video poker and keno machines
I hope the Allure will add more VP and regular keno machines. There add only a handful of Game King VP machines and no regular keno. The only keno was Caveman keno.

Allure of the Seas
The ship had many venues for entertainment. The casino was my favorite as there were many choices of slots to play. I am not a smoker and they had many choices in the non-smoking section where smoking was not noticeable. The slot machines seemed loosest in the early mornings. In all they are fun to play.

Allure of the sea
I want to say what a great ship, the entertainment is outstanding the crew is very polite and helpful the food and presentation is great, the room is overlooking the boardwalk and the back of the ship, the size is a little small and bathroom could be slightly bigger but all in all it is acceptable, now to the casino the casino is big and it is divided into parts smoking and non smoking so for the casino players that doesnt smoke you have an option. They have UTH three card let it ride roulette and craps tables and also poker tables that has a live dealer , BlackJack and baccarat all games are setup for cash mainly and you can take money with your sing and sail card but you will be charged 5% to get cash that way.the casino points are setup when you get to 2500 you then become a prime player . So In Conclusion the ship is a must visit you will not be disappointed thanks urcomped.
