To all the Craps Players what is your opinion of Casino Royale's crap table rules on Royal Caribbean?Just curious on what you think! Thanks in advance.

The biggest issue I have with RCCL casino is their rule requiring both dice to hit the opposite wall...  It wastes time and creates a belligerent atmosphere where calls are frequently challenged....

Single odds aren’t as exciting

The only way out of the single odds game on RCI Ships is this:

-Easy one....Bet $25 on pass line or come and you can take double odds!

-Little more involved.....$15 pass line or come bets let you take the following.  $15 odds on 4 and 10, $20 odds on 5 and 9

   $25 odds on 6 and 8.

I have done this on my last 4 cruises on Oasis and Adventure.

Good luck all.

I've been on a few different cruise lines and I feel that the dealers on Royal Caribbean are by far the best!  It takes good dealers (especially the stick) to help the game flow smoothly.

I'm not saying that all the dealers were great.  They were training a couple of new dealers but to their credit they swapped them out pretty quickly when things got busy.

As for the "both dice" thing... to recagle's point they were fairly calling it both ways.  I have no issue with that whatsoever.  It is one of the house rules.  What holds up the game more than anything are the bettors who call out their bets out of turn, arguments over a $1 hard way bet that fell ten minutes before, and people who just don't know much about the game.

Bottom line for me...... Craps is my second most favorite thing to do (if you have to ask, you're doing something wrong) and just being at a table with a bunch of like-minded crapsters can take the sting away from all the other distractions.

My experience has been that the dealers are consistent in calling a no-roll on both the dice hitting the back wall, and that requirement is clearly posted/communicated, so I don’t have an issue with that.  However, single odds on the pass line is horrible. At least double odds (and even that is low) would be much better.

I have no issue with their back wall rule given that it seems to be enforced regardless of the toss outcome. I never saw any "belligerent atmosphere" with the players and crews on the cruise we just completed on Oasis.

The single odds game makes pass line wagers a bad bet. Just place the numbers you want and you'll get paid better. I have more of an issue with the low max bet limits, as I almost never play pass line anyway unless I have to (i.e. when I'm the shooter). Even double odds is a marginal bet from a players perspective.

A huge warning to craps players though...if you see the RCCL advance chip promotion "deal" again, DO NOT DO IT. It is the worst deal ever, especially for craps players. The promo chips you get issued can only be used in whole denominations and cannot be split up to make multiple bets (i.e. you can't use a $25 chip to make $12 6 and 8 place bets). You can only exchange promo chips for smaller denominations at the cage and not at the tables. You HAVE to play live chips in your rack first before promo chips. And what might be the worst rule of all...you are not rated AT ALL on your promo chip bets...even the money that you paid for up front for them. Absolutely horrible.

An example of how bad the single odds PL bet is. Say you have a $10 PL bet with single odds. Point is set as 4 or 10. If the PL bets pays off, you'll get paid $30. If, instead, you place the 4 or 10 for $20, you'll get paid $36. Pony up the $1 to buy the number and you'll get paid $40.

Does Royal offer any all/tall/small or fire-type bets at the start of a new roll?

Single odds are terrible for the reasons stated above.  As for short-arming the dice, they need to give a couple of warnings first.....like they do in Vegas.

Don’t like their rules at all . The height of the throw, both dice hitting etc. Aside from that the ratings from a Rccl are terrible. Don’t expect a good rating from them, if you do get one from the tables, you are special.

I have to agree with Firefox concerning their rating system.  I recently returned from 2 week cruise out of Sydney on the EXPLORER and was rated very differently from my previous experience on the ADVENTURE.    Concerning their rules re both dice hitting back wall they are posted and seemed to be enforced fairly.  I too find the stupid players to be more of a problem. Trouble is that common courtesy is never taught at the table and most of the yahoo's have never picked up a book on craps. It's still my only game and will be.

I agree that the rule of both dice hitting the back wall is enforced consistently other than the occasional time that no one was watching.  I do think that they are sometimes in such a hurry to let the player roll again that they do not give the dealers enough time to get bets set.  I get it, everyone is in a hurry, but I want my bet to be correct before everyone starts screaming hands high.

I do have a problem with the height rule.  If the stick man can see the dice, it should be good.  On my last trip, there were a few quibbles about where exactly the line was for height.  I feel like a shooter needs to worry about one or the other...they are either aiming for the back wall or they are aiming for a sight line, but not both.

On the occasion that I give the dice a toss, it drives them nuts that I pause before picking up the dice and make sure everyone has had an opportunity to bet correctly.  I would rather have a clean toss than situation where someone should have known better than have their hand on the table.

I too wish there were some signals about table courtesy.  Why can there not be a rule that says, "No buy-in while the dice are out" ?  I also appreciate the beverages, but I don't appreciate you tapping my shoulder while I have dice in my hand....haha

Also, if you bet $50 on the pass line, you can put 3 times odds on a 4, 4 times odds on a 5, and 5 times odds on a six.  That cost me a small fortune.  And since it really did nothing for my rating, I went back to what otterman33 posted above.

I really don't have a problem with that, because they were very consistent with it. And other places sometimes they call it off and other time they let play especially when a 7 rolls.

recagle posted this 24 February 2019

Thanks alohajonny for that post.  I think me and you are on the same side of the craps table.  The biggest problem I have at the crap table is the ones that have no table courtesy . They just walk up when ever and throw their money and card down in the middle of a roll.  Then they get mad when someone says something to them. Then when the stick says dice moving dice out people still have their hands on the table placing bets. Hey Jonny come up with a class on table etiquette for all. Thanks

I hate the single odds.  It hurts my play.

recagle posted this 25 February 2019

little.melody, I totally agree.  The single odds helps the house advantage about 1/2 of one percent, which over all players that's a lot of money RC makes.

recagle posted this 27 February 2019

Thanks for the explanation. I did not understand that you could do that.

recagle posted this 27 February 2019

They had Hop bets.

recagle posted this 27 February 2019

That never bothered me. I just put half on the Pass Line and half on the Don't Pass Line and always hedge my bet on the Midnight which cost me $10.00. And when the roll is over they pay me in regular chips and I go right on. Easy P easy.
