Thought i would put this question here for those of us new here on URComped.  this will be a good info thread.

What Trip insurance company if the best to purchase from if your are not booking directly thru the cruise line?

Has anyone had any good/bad experience with a company?

Thanks

Allianz travel insurance is the one highest recommended by frequent travelers.  The insurance you buy directly through the cruise lines is inferior to this insurance. They also have a mobile app that you can download to quickly access your policy.  You don’t have to be a AAA member to buy this. You also have the option to buy their annual policies if you travel a lot. You have to purchase the policies within I believe 10 or 14 days of initial deposit for your travel for all the medical coverages.

We have heard of people over the years on cruises having injuries & the people were devastated that they didn’t buy trip insurance. On average for the best policy it costs (on average) $184 total for 2 people if that helps.  Don’t leave home without it. Just because you have insurance in the US doesn’t mean that a foreign country is going to treat you. That’s where travel insurance is a must.

I did not purchase travel insurance this time.  I am a member of USAA and will purchase their travel insurance package for my next cruise.

Nationwide Travel Insurance is awesome. Offers big bucks for itinerary changes, excursion changes, etc.
