The manager here is very racist. It is very unfortunate to have lost out on customers that would have stayed for a while. This was just so sad and disgusting. It was a seriously disgusting experience.

Today The owner of this place was very prejudice towards my daughter and her boyfriend. He started by telling me the only way I could Stay there with my daughter was if her boyfriend “of complexion” does not come inside the room or around the hotel. I simply declined that request due to its racial discrimination and because of that, he decided to STEAL a bag filled with my own belongings out of the room I stayed in. He proceeded TO LIE TO ME AND MY FAMILY about it until I called the cops and they retrieved the bag for me. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!! THE OWNER OF THIS PLACE IS A PIG AND IS DISGUSTING.

We recently stayed for three nights for a special events, Jazz Fest, weekend at the Stay Saratoga, recently rebranded from the Carriage House Inn. Along with a group of other friends, as many as six couples, we have been staying at the Carriage House Inn for over 30 years. The rooms in the main Carriage House were never elegant. They were modestly appointed rooms and always spotless. The ability for our group to be in adjoining rooms and get together on the porches gave it a homey feel. The owners and staff were always very accommodating and showed a true appreciation for our consistent patronage. With the past two owners, after our stay, we would book for the next year’s Jazz Fest weekend and would be penciled in for the same rooms. We would reconfirm early the next year and just giving our credit card info was enough to secure our rooms. A few years ago, ownership changed and the new owner was uninterested in accepting our advanced bookings (most times guaranteeing up to 5 room reservations a year in advance). We were told that we would need to contact him over the winter for each reservation, never sure if we would get the same rooms. For this past reservation, we were told that we have to book the rooms online. We did so in December of last year and rather than holding a room with our credit card info or a one night deposit, our credit cards were immediately charged the full amount, over $600.00 for all 3 nights! When complaints were made about the full charge, six months in advance, the owner would not change the policy. In the first couple of years with the new owner, there were some problems with room rates, room selections, some minor general maintenance issues and an innkeeper that was not as friendly and accommodating as is the past. We attributed it to a new owner getting accustomed to a new business. At our arrival this year, we found that the cleanliness of our room was well below the “old standards” of the past. The new wood floors were sticky and filthy. The kitchen sink drain board was black with dirt and stains. The bathroom inner shower liner was covered with pink slimy mold/mildew as was some of the shower tiles. Other friends had similar problems in their rooms. This should not be the condition of a room especially at the beginning of the season. Our “Complementary Breakfast in Your Room” consisted of two frozen breakfast sandwiches, some instant cereal and motel sized packets of coffee. Also, it should be noted that not all the “Deluxe Double” rooms have the same amenities. A few are large and have a full kitchens, like in the website photo, and others are quite small with just a motel sized fridge and coffee maker. In the past, the Carriage House Inn was always totally booked for that weekend. Within the past few years, there were still rooms available at our arrival and during our stay. We may have become too accustomed to the friendly hospitality and care taken by the earlier innkeepers and hope that the conditions we encountered never happen to anyone else. Sadly, after over 30 years of staying at the Carriage House Inn, our group will no longer stay there unless we see major positive changes.
